Monster s2r front end interchangability?
Anyone know if the superbike (748/9xx or xx9 series) front ends fit (forks, triples, etx)? I just bought an 06 monster s2r. Thanks.

Re: (.Ash)
If it is like the previous gen Monster then "yes" you should be able to switch over the forks, calipers and such. However, the IIRC, the monster forks and top triple have a different diameter (smaller than the SBK up top, bigger below), so you'll you need either:
A). Machine your stock top triple and shim the lower or
B). Buy a Cyclecat triple, install that and use the shim kit provided (this is what I did, when I put 998 forks and clipons on my SS)
However, you're now going to need to mount the clipons beneath the triple and you're either going to have to use SBK clipons (to fit the SBK forks) or buy aftermarket clipons (Cyclecat, Woodcraft, whatever) of the appropriate size.
After all that, don't forget to set the sad, preload and all that other good ****.
Congrats! Does this mean you sold the 748?

What do you think?
Ash is a baller! He only sells bikes when he is sick of looking @ them.

I will have to get out the micros and start measuring. I kept the 748; I have a very hard time parting with it.

I will probably use the 748 for reference + mesaurements.
