Honda CBR 125??not available in the states? good honda womans bike?
ok my fiance and I want to get a set of bikes. I already know what I want to get, but for her we were looking for a small bike like a ninja 250cc but she really wants a honda bike for obvious reasons..lol.. and i have been searching and the 125cc it is available in canada but not here in the us.
SO my question is.. what other options do i have? what years were available in the US?
did honda ever sell a bike under 600ccc in the us that still looks like a sport bike?
Thannks guys
BTW the reasons for the small bike for her is for a few reasons.. obviously she a girl and i dont want to be scraping her off the ground every time we ride and she is only 5 ft tall on a GOOD day...

There isn't any sportbike smaller than 250cc in the US, unless you're talking into getting an Aprilia RS125, but that's a 2 stroke and I believe can't be made road legal in the US, maybe it varies from state to state, check with your local authorities or other riders that have legalized off-road machines.
Go with a Ninja250, it's actually your best bet in reliability, availability of parts and newbie friendliness.
You could get a CBR125 imported, but I don't think it would be worth it, unless your REALLY, REALLY want it. I believe Honda Canada sold them, so you could just get one from across the border instead of importing it from Europe.
There's some chinese 200cc bikes that mimic the CBR125, but I would NEVER encourage someone to buy a Xing Ling bike...not in the third world, and even less to a citizen of the 1st world.

Also don't forget the CBR250 in all it's variations (Hurricane and the most popular MC19 and MC22).

Got this from Wikipedia:
"The VTR 250 was sold in the United States from 1988 to 1990, with only moderate changes occurring over the three model years. The engine was a 249cc 4-stroke liquid-cooled DOHC V-twin with a 6-speed transmission."
You'd be looking at something like this:

The CBR125's are totally gutless apparently. My cousin has one and he said he was scared to go on the highway with it. Also, going up an incline he really has to rev it up. I had no idea they didn't sell them in the States...that's kinda lame. They're dirt cheap to buy in Canada.
Try to convince her to get the 250 Ninja. It's a perfect beginners bike, especially for the ladies. It's not as light as the CBR but it's light enough for somebody small to handle. It's got enough power to get you going past 60mph without giving it full throttle too... lol
