Default F2 headlight problem

I am at a lost of what could be going on.

When i turn my bike on sometimes everything works fine, and other times everything works excpet for the headlight (no low or high beam, and no indicator light for high beam)

I have since opened up the wiring harned looking for a loose connection/broken wire and found nothing, but i did go and solder all splices.

Since i am not even getting a low beam would it be safe to say that I not getting power to the left handle bar switch? the wierd thing is that I am getting my turn signals and horn everytime. Is there a seperate power source for the different functions? I have even replaced the whole switch assembly itself and nothing changes.

I have it rigged up right now to run the light when the ignition is on, but i can't switch between high and low, and i would like to be able to use the handle bar switch to do so.

Any F2 guru's have any suggestions. I am game for anything right about now.

could this in any way be related to the rectifier? I know that those go bad every once in a while

You've tried pretty much everything that I would suggest. I would think the switch would be suspect, but you've already changed that.
Was it a "known good" part?
Have you checked the connections at the fuse box? (I'm sure you checked the fuse)
Have you gone through the harness from nose to tail?
I would check the connections around the battery as well.

i also noticed that my blinkers blink faster at idle and slower when the engine is spinning faster.

rectifier maybe? I know it can affect the brightness of a headlight.
