Default CBR F3.

I'm new to the bike scene. My first choice was the R6, but then i saw this 1997 CBR F3.
It's not the same bike, but the same paintjob. The guy is asking for it CDN $5 800, bike has original 7 800 km.
What do you guys think, too much? Or should i get the R6 over the CBR 600.
Thanks

Doesn't actually sound too horrible. I like it alot if it's that clean.

Yea, the bike is pretty clean. It has Two Bros complete exhaust and it comes with a CW jacket which i could care less.
But then again, there are R6 deals outhere for another $500 on top of that price. Of course more km on them but still.
I'm just in between what to chose R6 or CBR F3. This will be my first bike though.

I can tell you from personal experience that the F3 is a great starter bike. Very stable in the turns, and forgiving to newbie mistakes.

So you guys saying instead of R6 get the F3 one? I understand that R6 is a faster bike, but i always wanted to get a rather good bike and keep it for a while over buying a slower bike to learn and resell it.

$5800 CDN? That's about $4600USD for the F3. That is extremely high. I would say pass.

$4600 USD can get you a 2001 F4i, even here in CA. And we're notorious for reeedicorous prices.

I was thinking it's a bit too high, but low mileage... not even 8 000 km. That's why he's asking so much, at least that's how i see it.
But if he lets it go for CDN $5 000 should i take it?

I'd say maybe $3,500 USD tops.

It's a nice bike though. I love the F2, 3 & 4's.

The market is different here though.

With the season short all the prices stop at about 5500$ and go up.
All the F3 F4 and older r6's will be priced around 5500-6500. Even the laid down ones don't go below 5500 because our season is so short and there are usually very little kms on them. I am in your case too and I am hoping to pick up a bike in the off-season as the prices differ big time.

Any chance you can come state-side and find a bike? I would think the amount of money you save would make any effort worthwhile.

I think the government tax approx 14% if not more to transfer a vechicle across the boarder. It really isn't worth it.

Guys, i looked at the bike today. It's almost identical as the one on the pic i posted. No CF mirrors or CF exhaust though. Stainless steel exhaust by Two Bros. It has little scratches on the mirrors from parking in the tight garage. The guy rode it for me, i really like it. Really rare colors as well. Original 7 782 km on it. I left him a deposit i most likely will buy the bike. Will try to cut down the price to $5 200.

There is another good deal on 2002 R6. The guy is asking $6 500. It has 16 000 km.
But i think i'm too scared of R6 as a starter bike. I never rode a bike before. I believe F3 is fast enough.

Ick. Well, even with the tax, the price difference might still be worth it.
