did someone say gIXXeR?!?! I rushed in here as quick as I could
I don't think too many people know of the Britten bikes, and even if they did, they wouldn't know much about them, and hence nothing to say. What I have to say, is that the bike looks like its steering stops are like, 3 inches from side to side. No street riding! And it looks kinda big.

That's why we post these things, to enhance your knowledge... but if the extent of ones interest in his or her sport is whether or not "it is ugly", Houston... we have a problem.
You see, what usually separates us serious participants is a healthy dose of engineering envy. The common thread we usually share is the engineering aspect or HOW THINGS WORK

The beauty of this bike is not in its aesthetics....
Do you ride a gixxer?
RIP John Britten

Re: Britten (Jasper_db1)
Was the Britten ever actually raced? Was it in MotoGP? Superbike? How did it do?
I think it's awesome--function over form.

Re: Britten (MSchu)
I think it is beautiful, not so much the fairings but look at that exhaust!! At first glance you would think it would suck your legs into the belts, but they are covered with CF, it is a thing of engineering beauty!

I know that. I just wanted to know what series it was in and how competitive it actually was.

Yes.
It won lots and everyone tried to ban it, ultimately succeeded.
John Britten was a legend. One of the many tales of his 'uniqueness' was the story of when he couldn't find the right look for some door handles for his house he cast his own. He didn't f*ck around.
