Bag Reviews
I'm in the market for a bag/pack and couldn't find any solid information regarding them. What do you have? Do you like it? Complaints?
I'm looking at the Icon Urban or Squad currently.

Search, noob...

I dont see the point of a "bike specific" back pack. The northface backpack I've had for 5 years does the job just fine.

a) my north face from a billion years ago is broken
b) if i'm spending money on a new pack i might as well get something that can hold my helmet

What kind of bag are you looking for? I use the Alpinestar Vector II backpack and it's GREAT. Plenty of pockets, and room to spare... no helmet holder though. It looks nice too

i'm not sure if you want a backpack or a tank bag, but this is what i use:
it's a magnetic tank bag that came with the bike. in the picture it is fully expanded, but it never really gets that big unless you're carrying a lot of stuff in there. I really like the clear plastic cover where you can slip a map or directions into and 1 small pocket near the top to put pencils/pens and other small things, plus the main bag. It has about 5-6 heavy magnets along with a buckle (which i never use) to hold it to the fuel tank. Often times i use this instead of a backpack due to ease of use and weight/balance issues.
It's made by Chase Harper and other tank bags can also substitute as back packs, which is what i would get personally.

like if you had to walk around somewhere for any extended period of time.

Re: (Mike C)
Blaster
That's what I have. it is a little tall for my short self - what I mean is that the bottom of the bag was hitting my rear seat cover and therefore the top of the bag would touch the bottom of my helmet. I hope that makes sense.
You're probably taller than I am, and if you don't use the cowl on your bike, it shouldn't be a problem.
It's a very nice bag otherwise.
Most days, I use a small tank bag (Joe Rocket Manta) and a pair of saddle bags: Cortech

is this just concerning your helmet or carrying other things?
check your tool box for a helmet lock
it would either be a steel cable wrapped in some sort of rubber or a hook under the seat. i use that cable to wrap it through the metal buckle in the helmet and then around a hook under my passenger seat (which can be locked). Works great and i don't have to carry around a helmet. If i had a nicer helmet i'd probably take it with me, but i don't.

Re: (sup gurl)
I have a bag i've used for years now... i went to an army surplus store and found a good sized bag big enough for shoes and some other things, with good pockets, etc... but it has a upper and lower strap on it... it really holds it in place. It is black, but it has a reflective stripe on it... its from some European Army gear... look around... you want something thats not too big, that secures well... most good backpack brands will do

Re: (P Nut)
I use a Dakine bag and it kicks ***. I also just got a joe rocket bag for dirt cheap so I might try that out. It has a place to put your helmet so I am sure it will come in handy one day.
