Default Looks suspect but might have been a rat

One day my wifes 2006 Honda Odyssey left her stranded after working perfectly fine getting to market. The symptoms were no start, locked key in ingnition and shifter would not move without the shifter release tab being pressed in. Despite that it still wouldnt start in any other gear. All advice pointed to a busted Neutral switch or position sensor. I went ahead and ordered the part and as soon as it arrived i removed the front drivers side tire and immediately noticed wire shavings on the actual switch. I follwed the cable up and was shocked by what appeared to be sabotage. Ive since settled for believeing it must have been some rat nest or sewer my wife must have parked over resulting in knawed wires. The neutral switch came with the cable on the right but I dont have a name or part number for the other cable the switch's tail connects to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

That probably is rodent chew.

The transmission range switch sub-harness connects to the engine wire harness. You didn't list the trim level; so, the part number may differ. It is expensive new; so, replacement of harness used in whole or in part; or repair of wiring are other options. On-line Honda dealers like Hondapartnow.com, Bernardi Honda Parts, etc. will show part number for your specific trim level.

Thank you for the response but It doesnt show a part number or name for the cable. The position sensor already came with the cable shown on the right, it is the one on the left that I need to order.

The part is literally called "Engine Wire Harness". There is only one.

What is the trim level of the vehicle? LX, EX, EXL, EXL-T, etc.

For example, for a EXL, it would be Honda Part No.: 32110-RGM-A50

Thank you, can the entire harness be changed out with the engine still in the van? or would the engine have to come out?

It can be changed out with the engine in. Check the Honda on-line dealer websites to ensure the correct engine harness part number for your vehicle trim level. The harness will be included in the Engine sub-section of the parts.

If you unplugged a few of the other connectors on the engine wire harness, you may be able to get enough slack to reach and repair the cut wires on the engine wire harness side.

Thank you, I will try to release a bit of slack and weld the seven back together.
