Default Does replacement of dual linear solenoid require reprogramming of TCM ?

I had the the transmission dual solenoid replaced on my 2004 Odyssey for a p730 diagnostic code and now car will not shift into higher gears at allacts as if no power going to the part. A vendor of a similar part (different brand) stated that the transmission must be reset by dealer after install but did not specify models or years. No one else on the web mentioned this. its an aftermarket part and now Im getting a 780 code. maybe the part is foreign made and not compatible with usa tcm programming? When I called Honda service they did not know what I was talking about in resetting the tcm or reprogramming it. is this not applicable to my model and year?
