2001 Honda CRV Air Condtioner/Relate Problem

2001 Honda CRV Air Condtioner/Relate Problem
I have been experiencing two problems with my air conditioning and any advice is greatly appreciated. It is an 01 CRV with about 128k miles.
1. Rarely but from time to time when turning on the air, the fan will not blow at all. There is no hot or cold air though the unit seems to be on. AFter turning it off and waiting a couple of minutes it will come on and work fine.
2. Perhaps related, recently I have noticed that when the air conditioning is on that the car idles differently, with the rpm's varying, and sputtering at times as if it may quit. Once the air is turned off, the car returns to a normal idle.

No air from vents or from under the hood? Im assuming from vents. Check that both fans under hood are coming on when a/c is turned on and report back
