Re: Offical k20/k24 swaped insights
I have not yet dyno-tuned the engine working on an aftercooler which will be using R134a refrigerant to cool down the intake charge., basically an evaporator inside the s/c plenum running an a/c compressor where the IMA components used to be along with the condenser.. will post pictures when I start the project. right now using water to air for aftercooler. my goal is to hit 375WHP and 225-240 torque.

Re: Offical k20/k24 swaped insights
I got a question:
What k20 ecu can you use to make the stock gauge cluster work? (because of the electric ps, I suspect a civic si 2006-2010? but can anyone confirm?)

The EPS has nothing to do with the gauge cluster. It has its own computer and just needs a few inputs to work. As for the cluster, it communicates with the engine, ECU, and Battery control. Considering you're going to change two of those and remove one, it's not going to work exactly like stock. You may be able to get speed, tach (using a signal interface), water temp, idiot lights and some other functionality though.

@Brian g, btw... Does Hasport have a mountkit/axles for this swap yet?

major props on the kswap insight. my question is hypothetically speaking, if you were to get rolled by the cops and they asked you to pop your hood with the insight. The cops saw and knew that you did a kswap being illegal, but since it's smog exempt for the "insight:" would they still send you to the state ref? then about wiring what did you have to do to convert the wiring?

cool, you got some pics of my car. the car was put together within 72 hours before wekfest because the paintshop took longer to finish then expected but it was finally done. Other then only the gas level being the only thing that works on the cluster, the car is very fun to drive.

A K Series Insight is a blast to drive for sure. We beef of the suspension and brakes so it doesn't feel over powered for the chassis. We also built a Turbo K-Sight last year that was fantastic, at low boost it made a little over 330whp but felt like 500 with the power to weight.
We recently built a K series CR-Z ( Honda tuning magazine this month) that's fun to drive but nothing like the Insight.

The car looked awesome, im glad that I finally got to see a K-sight in person. Whats the reason for taking the upper half of the radiator support off, it doesnt seem to be in the way of anything?

Re: Offical k20/k24 swaped insights
the reason i took it off was because i was planning on running a prb intake manifold which doesnt clear. i had sent the manifold out to get the flange cut back for more clearance but havent got it back. so i just threw on one of the custom manifolds we made (testing on K24s) on that had the best clearance. so basically the car was put together in so short of time that i didnt have time to put the radiator support back on. the car was actually finished at 5am, the morning of the show. test drove it home, took a nap, then drove to Wekfest3 show. im planning on putting it back on soon because it makes the bay look more stock. lol even tho its no where close to that

im curious, is that car or the k sight still using the OEM cluster? If so, do you mind letting me know how the speedo and ect is wired and how the correct rpm is achieved? is there some sort of converter out there i can get to get the cluster to work correctly? LMK before i start looking for an s2k or an AIM cluster.

The K-Sights use an S2000 cluster. Modifry makes a great product for the temp gauge correction and gives you the ability program it the way you want.
