Water leak when parking outside Fit 2017
Hello,
my car,Honda fit 2017, got water/rain leak on driver side floor for a long time. I didn't send it to the dealer because I thought it was my fault for always forgot to close the windows when it rained.. this year the water seemed way too much and I was pretty sure I didn't made the same mistake. Dummy decided to check the car floor after 4 years. There was like a pond in there!
I just change my heater and had the guy checked for ac clogged. So we can ruled the ac out. I sent it to a body shop, they couldn't figured it out. I of course can't afford to sent it to the dealer since my warranty was up. They would charge $135 /hr to just look at it. What should I do? What could possibly be the problem? No sunroof.

Fits are well known to have leaks on the roof. They usually involve the strips of rubber in the roof top on both sides that run from front to back. Most of the time the leaks are in the rear portion of those rubber strips.

I had water 1” deep in front passenger footwell, small amounts in rear passenger footwell & 1/2 sloshing around my spare in back. This was after heavy rain. Cleaned/dryed everything. 2 days later same thing after rain. Took to dealer who said flooding was from plugged up moonroof drains. Now cost of $171 to diagnose problem plus $450 to pull all carpet, dry & replace. Nowhere in owners manual is mentioned maintenance on moonroof to occasionally clear drain tubes which dealer said I will need to do to prevent recurrence. HUGE design flaw! Thanks Honda. I am now soured on any Honda models & any car with moonroof. Should have been recall on this. Honda dealer should make a point of explaining this type of potential damage to customers. Like I said, thanks Honda.
