Are the discs and pads that they use readily available in the market today, or will they be some weird size that will have to be special ordered?

Im remotely interested. But to play devil's advocate, my friend said that Spoon says that stock drums are more than enough. Maybe go with a brembo blank and perhaps a sport compound shoe but drums are all you need for the rears.

here is an article on the spoon fit. they apparently used drums with cooling fins.

im not saying the the drums are bad. But honestly rear disc is better all around, maintenance wise and brake distribution. Now as far as the finned drums.... would you want to spend money and upgrade to fins or upgrade and have disc? No matter what while using a drum rear you sill get a bit more of the "nose dive" effect while braking, rear discs help alot with this. Now please if we can get back to the topic interest on the kit.

Those fin drums are from an Insight. All needed are Insight rear drum components: drums, backing plate, springs, shoes, etc. Will be around $350 new.

Now double up and go for skunk2. It seems like standard 9.4" rotors...but I may be wrong.

If, hopefully, that is correct...then any 88-00 civics or 90-01 non-R integras rear disc rotors AND pads will work. If that is the case...what a compatible setup!

I might put my name up...when the list goes near the quota that is...

they are OEM size, so rotors/pads are going to be readily available and cheap.

As long as it's still ABS I'm in 100%. I will not give up my ABS as it saved me on several occasions already.

The Asian Jazz (and I believe the Europeans too) have rear disc brakes as OEM. Why the North American version got rear drums.

If that's true then why not just do a JDM rear disc conversion? Will these kits be our only option to have rear disc? I know it's a bit off topic but it's still relevant.

But for more Fit owners to get in on this.

you can, However the price is about $1000. This is why pogiedawgie got in on this thread instead of buying the JDM pieces.

J's racing not only has a basic rear disc conversion ready for purchase , but a big brake full conversion due out before the end of the year

who cares what skunk2 will do , they aren't developing anything for the car, and j's is developing parts on a monthly basis

why would you pay more for skunk2 to do the same thing?

you do know that J's racing doesnt make a rear disc conversion for the Fit right? do you mean aj-racing? anyways the skunk2 kit will be cheaper. If you dont have anything positive to contribute to the thread then GTFO

also looking at the set up, are they using the civic rear brakes? that would be very good since i've heard they already share the front rotors off the civic.
