Default Reset oil life monitor (with a negative reading)

I let my oil life monitor go beyond the 0%. I noticed that it reads the mileage as negative and I am unable to reset using the standard procedure. I have since changed my oil, but have not yet made it out to see the dealer yet to have this thing reset.

Does anyone out there know how I might be able to reset this myself?

Thanks in advance!

I forgot the exact order but I think you hold that button on the gauge in the fuel display mode and hold it down. It should reset and or trying the same think but turn the ignition in off mode than hold the button down and turn ignition in on mode. some thing like that I hope I did not confuse you more. I know for sure you can call your local Honda dealer and they will tell you.

The procedure to reset it is the same as always. I can't remember exactly what it is but it is written in the owners manual.

Now that was a big help ^^^^^ "I don't know what it is but it's in the manual" That was THE MOST helpful post ever on HT.

pro advice: you don't have to reply to EVERY post especially ones that you don't know the answer to and add babble just to reply.

He wanted to know if it was the same procedure if the counter is negative and then wanted to know how to reset it. I told him it was the same procedure and also told him where to find it.

A lot more helpful than you.

Here you go from the manual.

1. Press the trip meter button until the oil life reminder is displayed

2. Press and hold the select button down for approximately 10 seconds until the oil life reminder is blinking.

3. Press and hold the select button down for another 5 seconds or so until the oil life reminder is reset to 100% Done

Relax... I did the oil change, but forgot to reset the monitor.

As far as I can tell, the regular procedure to reset the monitor doesn't work when it's in the negative reading. I've tried several times.

If it isn't working then there is something wrong, I have reset it when it is in the negative before and had no issues. Double check you did it right then give the dealer a call.

I did it,
with negative
1 followed directions. Press trip button to chose oil negative figure, held button for a while,
the reading flashed and said oil life CANCEL.
then I pressed and released and then held button again and it reset

i hope I remembered it right
