Looking at new 2012 Fit Sport (n00b questions)
My first post in this section, please be kind...
So I went to the Honda dealer today intending to look at a 2010 Civic Si, but they didn't go for the price I wanted to offer soooooo I decided to look at a Fit. I've been thinking about them for a few years now.
There was a 2012 Fit Sport in white w/navigation for $20,480K. It also had a $590 markup, but I know I'm not paying that. If so, I'll find another one somewhere else.
Few questions from the Fit noob:
* What's a good price to offer for a car like that brand new? I'm paying cash and/or financing the minimum possible to for a credit score boost when I pay it off quickly.
* It appears that a manual Fit Sport with navigation does not exist, is that true?
* I know many new cars have very integrated stereos. Can I upgrade the stereo easily on this car?
* Is there a "hack" where I can use the navigation functions while moving?
* Is there a "hack" where I can play DVDs using the navigation or have a backup camera play through the screen?
* What is the exact difference between the Sport and the Base models? Google shows some conflicting information.
* I will not be modifying this car (err...I say this now). Maybe OEM lip, that's it.
Basically this car will replace my M3. It still will be a weekend car (and commuting only when the weather is bad). I just want to get rid of a nearly $1K payment per month for a car that I rarely use, the CPO warranty is runnng out soon, and it's value is just going down over time.

Major Difference between Sport and Base:
- Sport has spoiler and lip kit
- Sport has fog lights
- Sport have better wheels
- Sports have differ steering wheel w/ control
- Sports has usb connection
- Sports has alot of better stuff. Worth the extra few thousand dollars IMO.
As of now, since the Fit received a face-lift for the 2012 model, there's no front lip available at the moment. Don't bother with a base Fit. IMO for $17k I'd rather buy a used car than buying a base fit. I have a 2012 A/T Fit sports (not navigation) and I love it. For the price I got it for, I could have gotten a better used car, but **** it. Got it for 20k out the door. Try not to compare the ride and quality of the Fit to your M3, you'll surely be disappointed.

$20k for a fit. wow. didn't know they run that high. but i've always had my eye on the fit. great for hauling stuff. especially since my Legacy sedan's rear seats doesn't fold down.
my girl has an 06 civic. at times we talked about trading it in for a fit. but its paid off. its nice not to have a car note, even still its tempting sometimes.

Make sure you're comfortable in the Fit seats. I went from an E36 M3 to a Fit and want to puke every time I sit in the Fit seats, they are awful in every way. Civic Si seats going in soon.

We just bought a new 2012 Fit Sport for my wife. We had to order it, white sport manual.....we picked it up last week, came in fresh from Japan. They do not offer the nav with a manual trans, but we didnt really care about all that anyway. The car rides good, has decent power and is pretty comfortable. She was driving a 96 integra se sedan and loved it but likes the fit much more. My daily is a k20 00 coupe with full suspension, cage, aluminum race seat, track car, etc and I still like the fit too. 20k out the door is good price with tax and all, thats about what we paid as well. There is no break on Hondas right now, they sell themselves and with the Tsunami that hit Japan, there are fewer available.
