When it happens stick your fingers into the bottom outlet of the black housing under the dash if you find the parts inside are cold but not getting cold air out of the vents that is a common problem.Get your charge levels checked. The system freezes from lack of charge.

Just fixed an AC issue on my 2011 fit that I just bought. The Clutch was not engaging on mine. I unbolted the outer part of the AC compressor clutch and took away material on the opposite side of the bolt, not much either, and it solved my issue.
