It is 2wd Auto, so I believe that is 4spd tranny. That is the wife's car and she does good to get 28mpg out of it in the city. If she would stop using the A/C every damn tank would be well over 30mpg!!!

Ok, I was going to say bullsh@t if it was an AWD lol. I've drove sooo slow for the past couple of weeks and managed to squeek out a best 32.73MPG in my Forester AWD 5-speed. I'm very plesed with that considering I dont FAS at all, only nice on occasionally and not very much P/G because my BOX does not coast very well.

I've been remiss lately. Here's the latest:
Really blasted around and went 322/8.9 for 36.1 mpg
A little more conservative after getting the oil changed 448.3/10.65 for 42 mpg
Went Geocaching out in the back woods and just had to enjoy myself on the twisty roads for 204.7/5.9 = 34.69
Loaded the wife and 3 kids in the car and drove the 600 miles to SC last night. Combined, we weigh a total of 775 pounds. Add the couple hundred pounds of crap we brought along, and it's over 1/2 ton of addtional mass to the car.
Just keeping the speed down to at or slightly below the limit with no P&G, etc. yielded 401/10.2, or 39.3 mpg when we stoped near the border to get gas and some gizzards and livers. I was hoping for 40 mpg on this trip, but it still beats hell out of the 19mpg we usually get in the Windstar. :D

Right. The wife, kids, and myself gross 775 pounds. Add 225 pounds of stuff, and you end up with 1000 pounds. 2000/2=1000, or half a ton.
I don't understand what the second part means.

drove a little faster = higher speeds of 55 - 60mph and used cruise control. I think the pump shorted me on gas but after pumping i noticed that the nose of the car was on a slight incline. It should average out.
507.3 miles
8.69 gallons
58.3 mpg
Next tank will be interesting data because I just installed the WAI and tires are at 65psig.

Installed Fujita CAI, first tank
378 miles
9.3 gallons
40+ MPG!
I'm happy with anything above 350 for the tank. After i installed the CAI, i had some fun with the car, heavy footed driving, revving up t 6000 RPM, etc. About half of those miles are local driving. I think the CAI helps improve my gas mileage so far. Hoping to get over 400 next tank!

Checking in with 328.3/8.6 = 38.2 (roughly) The first 200 miles were with the aforementioned 1000-odd pounds of people and stuff, the rest exclusively in town. The wife filled the car so I'm not so sure how exact the fill was.

some cruise control at 55-60mph. Installed FAS switch at last 120miles and installed WAI at beginning of tank along with tires up to 65psig. I do believe the last fille shorted me 0.5gallons.
566.6miles
10.1 gallons
56.0mpg

Let me clarify this little contraption. The FAS switch, for me, was created for convenience and to help get an accurate mpg. I do not expect to "truly" increase my mpg by a significant amount(I would call significant 3-5mpg increase). The switch is only good if you use FAS and/or P&G. The mentioned techniques must be applied appropriately to gain full advantage of them. The switch will ONLY eliminate the turning of the key from off to on, eliminate that time lag, eliminate the possibility of loosing power steering, AND eliminate the odometer down time when it CAN'T clock mileage since the car is off. So, my mpg should only increase since I am able to track the mileage better(not really increasing per say) and I have eliminated maybe 1-2 seconds of fuel usage(insignificant consumption).
-It works.
-Will it increase your mpg, NOT REALLY
-Is it for you..............only if you FAS and P&G.
The choice is yours......choose wisely.

So I have just gotten a Scanguage. Currently it shows I get between 20 and 25 mpg when cruising in 5th gear at 50 mph. However, I get 38 - 42 mpg average on a tank when I calculate actual mileage, so I know that can't be right. I can calibrate it to correct the error when I burn a tank of gas, which will be a week or so. Will post how it goes as I learn what all it can do and how to use it.
I must say the manual leaves a little to be desired.

There is a bunch of info for the correct calibration of the SGII for a Fit.

Will do that.
In the meantime, a little digging in the manual reveals this nugget: "On some vehicles, the fuel economy will be more accurate if the engine displacement is set for it". Did that and it brought the indicated mpg more into line. Will refill and start over before calibrating fuel usage.

Like I mentioned in the 'lower final drive' thread, my Base 5spd got 42.5 mpg on this last tank, mostly interstate driving. I kept it at 65 (the speed limit) for the most part, with a bit of slower driving at around 55 in the Pennsylvaina hills.

This recent tank of mine was achieved by doing P&G from 55-40mph on the local Hwy(Psl 60) which is the majority of my trip and the Interstate was P&G from 55-45mph(Psl 60-65) which is only like 12miles of my commute. My MPG was 62.5. I think this proves that the glide time or mph difference is key with the difference being 15mph vs. 10mph. My last several tanks in the mid 50's was P&G from 55-45mph. This seems optimal for me, not too fast and not too slow.
Recent tank:
631.8miles
10.1 gallons
= 62.5mpg

Re: (Sahwn)
That's amazing mpg, but I don't think I could bare to do the P&G for any appreciable length of time, or at such a low speed.
My father took the Fit out to the Adirondacks for the week, he's taking the rural back roads, no interstate. Last time he took this route he got 47mpg jsut going the speed limit (55-60). I'm anxious what it'll get this time.
