My 98 5spd Cr-V has started making a noise. Haven't been able to record it yet, but it almost sounds like a bearing noise. I notice it in every gear except R, and it starts around 2.5-3rpm. If I press the clutch in it stops, and if I shift the car into neutral it stops. If I take my foot off the gas, but keep it in gear, I still hear the noise, it just lowers in pitch as the car slows. The noise worsens as I accelerate. Noise seems worse in gears 1-3, but I do hear it in 4th and 5th. At first, the noise sounded like the muffler rattling, or perhaps a loose heatshield, but nothing is loose in the exhaust system. I hear it while driving, haven't sat in the passenger side to see if I hear it there as well. Tranny is shifting smooth, clutch pedal has no issues. I do hear a quick grind as soon as I first start the car sometimes. Fluid levels are good, no signs of leaking. Thoughts?
