Default zc ticking

My zc ticks at idle, and just doesn't seem to idle very quietly. I'm assuming its just out of adjustment. Can anyone give me the specs to adjust the intake and exhaust valves? or whatever needs to be adjusted.

The car also hesitates around 3.5k on slow acceleration and doesn't get very good mileage.

Any help would be great?

If it's a constant metallic chittering...then it's your valves. I'll try to find some specs for you...

If it sounds like ping pong ***** in your engine bay...then it's detonation. Move on octane or check your timing.

Found those specs:

http://www.hondacrx.co.uk/

Go to the "Downloads" section and download the workshop manual. (You shouldn't need the vtec supplement) You'll need adobe acrobat to view the manual. The specs are under "Specifications -> Standards and Service limits"

Good luck!

Same thing on mine. I just adjusted the valves though about a month ago and ran fine till a couple days ago. I use 91 octane on ever since i got the motor so i dont thing its detonation. Some i think said i should check the oil level too. Only if i could get my hood open. Damn body shops.

You guys sure it isn't the injectors you are hearing, I can hear my injectors inside the car. My valves are quiet. Honda ingectors are fairly loud.

Do the long screwdriver to the ear trick. On the valve cover than on the intake manifold. Injector tick does sound a lot like valves being ever so slightly out of adjustment, but the pich changes as you give it gas, valves the pitch doesn't change. Like I said my ZC valves are very quiet, my injectors on the other hand make one hell of a rattle.
