I have to do a little more research, but I'm hearing if you don't get it off right after, it actually will be on tighter.

It seems like people are not realizing how tight this was on there, that pry bar in the first picture can take about 800lb to 1000lb before breaking. With that much torque on the axle nut, the wheels would of spun on the ground. It has happen before with a nut that was not as stubborn.

The wheel locking was not a problem, it was the nut in general. The wheel was fine, it was not moving no matter what. Someone has the pic on how you hold the wheel so it won't move.

Yeah I'm sure it might of got it off, but I don't own one, due to the fact there are not many uses for them, unless you work on trucks.

Yeah the engine in this car was getting pulled out so it was not movable. I would have went to a truck shop, because normal shops have the same impacts I own.

I had to take the acetelyne to get mine off. I had to melt the axle nut off of the threads without messing up the threads on the axles. I feel your pain, except i went the cooler route and melted mine into a pile.

Heating stuff up in that area, I mean really heating them up is not the best idea.

So do mine, but when you deal with customer cars that have had the axle nut on there whole life, they don't come right off.

Bob you're a *****. I just get some sandpaper, get a firm grip and turn em off with my bear hands because I'm so huge! One time i broke the front half of the car right off and had to jb weld it back together.

Re: (slo91crx)
Dremel the old bolt off, go to dealer and buy a new one. Next time you tiet it, don't tie it too much. The shops will screw u over and tiet it with impact tool. LOL.
I broke a breaker bar in the process of taken the nut off and figured out it won't budge. If your car is older than 96 and you live in a cold environment, skip steps 1 and 2, most likely the bolt is seized and will not loosen.
Steps to Removing the Axle Nut:
1. Use a breaker bar/air tool. (Twist counter-clockwise, I think)
2. Use a tourch to warm it up, give it another try.
3. All fails, get a dremel, drill the sucker off.

Re: (lek9l)
I had problems getting mine off before, brokes ratchets etc. But luckly enough, I am a desiel mechanic, so i just took the car to the shop and used our 1inch impact. After that though, I never had problems again.

It's funny how I stumpled across this post. I'm about to bring my brand newly purchased "Sear" breaker bar to Sear to do an exchange because I broke it last night trying to take out the dam nut. Heck, I'm going to go right to the method of Drilling out that nut
