Default What sensor is this? PM6, back of manifold by the brake booster vacuum tube

(obviously in the picture, the sensor is not there)

On the back of my factory manifold (1991 CRX Si), there is a sensor mounted here. I can't figure out what it is... Its not mounted on another D16A6 manifold that I have, and its not on my DOHC ZC manifold.

On the manifold, there is a whole, and its tapped for two bolts, and inside the sensor, it looks like the accordian thing you would see in the IACV. It has two wires going to it, and another connector where those two wires meet the engine harness at the manifold support bracket.

What is this sensor, and what does it do? I've searched under Si, HF, EG Civic on HondaPartsDeals.com to try and find it, but they don't show it...

Thanks!

In that diagram, where the vacuum tube comes out is the vacuum feed to the brake booster. On my 1990 Si, even though it's not shown in that diagram, my FICV is bolted to the back of my A6 mani as well, right where those two blank squares are shown in the diagram right above the tip of your red arrow.

But, if you're talking about the small two wire, white plug, that's at the bottom of the runner right next to the brake booster feed tube, that would be the intake air temp sensor.

Do you have the Helms manual for your car?

In my Helms even though it's called the Intake Air Temp Sensor, (IATS), Honda simply labels it the TA sensor in the flow chart.
HTH

From the Helms:
The TA sensor is a temp dependent resistor. The resistance of the thermistor decreases as the intake air temp increases.

that is the Fast Idle Control Valve - only found on 89-91 D16A6 (not on 88s) - it is there to boost the idle slightly at extremely low ambient air temperature below -10C (14F) - has 2-wire connector with black/yellow and blue wires - the black/yellow splices into the black/yellow at the purge cut-off solenoid on the firewall and the blue goes to ECU pin B2

To the rescue again! Thanks man!

BTW, I purchased a ZC Speed intake manifold adapter for the ZC a couple weeks ago. I'm planning on using a Y8 manifold that I have laying around, and its actually what brought me to this question!
