ok i'm gettin my hands on a 91 crx. i'm planning on making it a street car. i wanna know what i have to do to have my crx beat the riced out civics, accords, preludes, delsols, etc. i mena also if they have lets say turbos and nos. what can i do to my car for me to run with them and possibly beat them. i know engine swap. but what do you recommend. i wanna have my car not a 10 sec car cause it's probably not possible in a crx, but pretty damn close so i can run with the big doggs. thankx

if all u care about is going fast in a straight line and not autocross or anything then i would say a turbo h22. then if thats not good enough (i dont see how it couldnt be) throw a little refreshment to it in the form of nitrogen and oxygen.

what kind of 1/4 mi times are we talking about with the h22 turboed? how much will this end up coming too. i will be doin all the work myself (of course with my buddies) any special things i have to have in mind about this swapp. any tutorials at all or something? thankx

ok well first of all i'm doin this for a freind of mine. he asked me to find out which swap was the best and he would do the rest. i added the extras to maybe see if there was anything else involved. he probably knows all the rest but i don't so i wanted to know. thankx for bein a smartass. isn't this forum for help, not critizism. wait till me and my friend get done with our cars and see if you still be talkin ****.

for the o.g poster id say a built b18a/b turbo should be more than enough to take out 99% of the cars you'll meet on the streets or maybe even a B20 turbo if you're feelin the urge to be even faster (although if you're gonna resleeve you might as well just do 84mm sleeves in the B18a/b)

but yeah thats my suggestion. h22 turbo would be fast no doubt but i dont think its too realistic for the street

Seriously! Sounds like someone is HATING! It's a damn shame that since some people aren't as mechanically inclined as others That the other think they are like gods. So what if he doesn't know much about doin a swap! No one does until you actually do one. You can read all you want but the experience is what is the best teacher.

Anyway... Man if you want to beat most of the "rice boys" on the street all you need is anything more that i/h/e. But if you want to run with the real Racers an Ls Turbo is probably the most reasonably priced sawp for the power desired. And with proper tuning you'll handle most of the fools on the street.

you have advantage over heavyer car(integra, accords, some civic, most eclipse) so be happy for that. To run a 13 sencond car you need roughly about 200hp and about 145 torque to the wheel. If you wanna race on the street make sure you have a good braking system(for the added power) and importantly suspension. As for which motor to run that's up to you. B16,B18,B20 all or them are good. I would suggust that you find someone you know who has one of those motor and drive in it to see if it's for you. Remember the possabilitys are endless... but not your wallet. You'll learn to love the power of a $25,000 credit line but have the responiblitys.

by the way stay away from H22 turbo in a damn CRX..... many, many, many headachs not to mention rearly done. Also too damn expensive.

Your question is really trivial, i mean its not as easy as sayin what is gona be a fast motor? any motor can be fast, each swap has its own strong points. The main things you have to ask yourself is how fast do i wana go ? and how much money do I have? Cars run on money not gas. Other than that i would say the majority of ppl would say a stock b16a is a good starting point, its a nice quick right out the box motor.
