polly filla super stripper...

find it in any hardware store.. its kinda a liquid/gel.

brush it on... leave for 3-5 min. then wipe off.. paint comes off.. do not even need to scrub.. and no u dont want this stuff to touch your skin either...

yeah, i have some stuff just called paint stripper. you just spray it on and leave it for 10 minutes, the paint bubbles up, and you just rinse it off, no scrubbing. its easy... also stings on the skin.. i think all this stuff is more or less the same thing... just find any paint remover chemical at sears or kragen.

I tried a couple of things. Like the others said, go to advance auto and get the aircraft stripper. Spray and hose. It is some bad, bad shi?? but it will leave the valve cover amazingly clean.

Ari craft works good, just make sure the surface is dry, then wash it off, and then if u apply it again, dry it again, then apply. just some good things to know.

You could also go to your local machine shop and have them glass bead or sand blast it, be careful with some aluminum though, sand can be bad.

paint remover worked well w/ me. its a thick gel like substace, pour it on, let it sit...paint bubbles, wipe off w/ rag. SIMPLE

All these products are based upon the same thing. but yea...be careful using it. I got some on my arm when it was underwater in the sink and it still hurt like hell.

Keep sand blasting and bead blasting away from any internal engine parts. The inside of the valve cover qualifies as "internal". There are little pockets, and good corners for the sand/beads to get trapped. Then they'll free themselves up as you drive the car, and port your cylinder head for you, as well as clearance your pistons/rings/bearings/etc...

what can you paint the valve cover with to make it look like factory. I like the wrinkled finish, but every wrinkled finish paint that I ahve ever used wrinkled up WAY more than wahts on a factory cover. any ideas guys?

Aircraft stripper is good, but watch out and make sure to clean it real good after your done with that stuff...

It can, if not rinsed off well, cause the new paint to peel off easly.. If your getting it powder coated, this doesn't matter at all, but if you are going with hi-temp paint, be sure to keep it clean...

Maybe you knew this already, but it doesn't hurt to make sure.
