Re: sway bars diameters? (SIsohcvtec)
I looked around online and couldnt really find anything. Call my local honda parts counter. They will be calling me back w/in the hour and letting me know.

Edit: I'm at work, so I dont have any of my own manuals to look at.

did they change the size of the rear one from 89-90? my 89 hatch had a 13mm rear bar on it, until i put the 15mm crx rear bar on it, and then upgraded again to the aftermarket 22mm bar.

hey alan, just to clear up what i told you before, i recalled my numbers incorrectly. i looked back and the stock Si bar i measured is .70"=17.78~18mm (not 19 as i said), and HF is 0.68"=17.272~17mm (hollow, and not much smaller than Si in OD). just correcting what i previously told you.
90 stock rear Si bar i have is .60"=15.24mm

Thanks T, that 19mm you had told me was driving me nuts. I was scouring the part numbers online to try and prove its existance. That HF measurement sounds dead on. I noticed Honda's part description for the HF front swaybar bushing usually has "(17.3)" for the stamping.

Odd, Civic Si 89-91 and CRX Si 88-91 should all have had 18mm/15mm front/rear bars. I only see one part number now for the Civic years and one corresponding bushing for it in the online listings. I guess they could have superceded an earlier one, but why they'd want to have a smaller rear bar on the hatch when the already shorter wheelbase CRX had a 15...
Have you had this car since new (positive it came from the factory like that)? If not, any chance a previous owner may have (for whatever screwball reason) switched it to 13mm from some other car. Not even sure what car that would be from since the only the Si's had rear swaybars (no other CRX, Civic hatch/4dr/wagon). Even DA Integra's are like 14.7 and 15.x.

Re: sway bars diameters? (XrcR6)
no, i am not the original owner of this car, so i can't say for sure if someone changed it or not, but from what i understand, the couple people who owned this car before me would not have changed it out for any reason. perhaps it has something to do with the "Honda Made In Canada" sticker that is in the engine bay of the car between the radiator supports. all i know is when a friend of mine took off his crx rear sway bar, i could see the difference - i know, 2mm, but it was still pretty obvious that mine wasn't that size. so i took mine out and checked. 13mm, and the crx was 15mm. don't know. i do know that the 15mm made a big difference compared to the 13.
