stopped by cops....need a lil help
ok here's what happend. i was cruising down a major street @ 9:30am in my crx. and i see a cop so i slowed down a bit goin about 42mph (40 is posted limit), and next thing u know i see those flashing lights in my mirror. so i pull over cops says:
"the reason i pulled u over is because u looked a bit low."
so i go, okay. he then measures me and im at 21 1/2 inches. cop asked me to pop my hood, so i do and reveal my LS/Vtec he claimed that i had aftermarket headers but im running the stock LS headers, so instead of trying to be an A$$ to him i ask him if he would like to see my ref sticker? and he immediately backed down, but still gave me a fix it ticket.
thats the story but any how my question is this, how do i raise my car that needed 1/2 inch when im using lowering springs? my first guess was to use the rubber blocks and just stick it inbetween the spring. has anyone used this or tried them before? or is there another option that i could use just while i get the ticket signed off? thanks guys.

i thought they exempted that rule and replaced it with "your chassis can't be lower than the lowest part of your rim." - to make sure that if you had a flat, your chassis wouldn't be scraping the ground thus causing an accident.

heres the law: 24008. It is unlawful to operate any passenger vehicle, or commercial vehicle under 6,000 pounds, which has been modified from the original design so that any portion of the vehicle, other than the wheels, has less clearance from the surface of a level roadway than the clearance between the roadway and the lowermost portion of any rim of any wheel in contact with the roadway.
Amended Ch. 462, Stats. 1984. Effective January 1, 1985.

Re: (spikehead221)
For just an inspection im thinking its the simplest way.
What ya scared its ganna Pop on you. Lol
8 psi over the limit is really nothing, your cars load hitting speed bumps puts more pressure onto it.
Im not saying drive it like that, just for the inspection and im sure it will give him the 1/2

lol cuz hes a [freak]nut and thinks his box on wheels is all badass
jk tyler
idk why he drives fast everywhere, maybe it has something with the damn toyota tranny and the honda not liking each other and not shifting into 5th until 85, or some unknown ricer *** reason
we did provoke a streetrace once somehow, we always take off kinda fast, but this one moron in a grand prix wanted to drive fast too, so this random *** pos focus comes out of nowhere and were like "are we racing" lol so were just sittin behind them laughing not racing just doing our usual speeding lol, and we slow down and let them fly on cuz "the cop is up ahead" ROFL!!!

Re: (ys1civicsi)
a local cop rolled on me in my Integra, and his reason was because it looked too low. I was 20, I had 2 beers with lunch, and was going to work to get my paycheck. He measured and it was a 1/2 inch too low, and asked me to pop my hood also. Me smelling like beer, I did everything he asked while I turned away while I talked to him. I only had I/H/E that were carb legal. He asked to see my license, and was shocked it was a Class A, asked where I worked, I said for the city, and he let me go.

Re: stopped by cops....need a lil help (spikehead221)
back on topic, what exactly do you have to pass, just another measurement or what?
yeah, slightly overinflating tires wont really hurt.
so do that and empty the inside out to remove weight.
that is what i would do.

Re: (Dc4iNtEgRa)
i got pulled over one time.. comeing home from work doing 100 in a 55 (befor i get flamed it was a back country road in the middle of nowhere and the closest thing to teh road that i could hurt was mabey a rabbit... ) i didnt have insurance.. the cop wanted to impound my car and i was like.. ... so i was like can i atleast get my fire gear out of the back and he was all.. "wait... ur a firefighter?" and i was like... yeah.... i just got home from a 2 week tour.. and he was all "never mind *rips up ticket*" then tells me "have a nice day"
i was freakin stunned lol....
but to the OP...
i havnt used the rubber spacers.. but i know when cars are being shipped on trucks they put teh spacers to keep them from bouncing as much... im sure they wont hurt you suspension if its just for like a few days.. and would give you atleast a 1/2in or more... the springs just wont give as much....
and befor anyone askes... lol
Im a Wildland firefighter
which explains the "2 week tour"
edit: i used those metal ones to ghetto lower my girlfriends car... i wouldnt recomend those.. use the rubber ones if you can... if i rember correctly we used to take 2 ruber ones off each spring on the new GTO's when i worked at a pontiac dealer.. and they would drop a good like 2 inches (but those where mainly to keep the car from bouncing to much on teh back of the truck)
