simple trans question..
hey ive heard good reviews on gm's syncro mesh for the manual trans in our car is great for getting rid of small problems and such but besides all that. im wondering any of you guys who have used it how much will i need to pick up ie how manny quarts to fill the stock d series si trans? thanks in advance guys.

your gonna need two quarts. just fill until the fluid backs out the tranny. your only need a 1/4 of the second quart.

i havent used gm's synchro mesh but i have used pennzoil's (same effect) and i can personally vouch for this stuff. It eliminated my second and third gear grinds that i would sometimes get, it is absolutely amazing

well thanks again guys.
yeah im just trying to get rid of the kinda whine my trans gives off when im in gear but coasting with no gas applied. when i give it gas it goes away so i dont know. id figure id give this a shot befor i tear it out the car.

The whine you're haring is due to a bad ISB or mainshaft end bearings (or both).
Putting Synchromesh in only masks problems, it doesn't fix anything.
