Si Transmission question.
I recently ran into transmission issues with my 91 4 speed Ef civic. (Multiple bearings - squeaked like a barrel of squirrels). Honda technician found out the issue.

I thought about replacing the bearing completely but, I was offered a 91 Si transmission free of charge (PL3/3000).
I've done my research and to my great surprise it's a direct bolt in.
Well as I was looking over the Si transmission I noticed a crack in the bell housing.Looks like it may have been dropped.
I've included a picture. Will this be an issue? Or can I run it with the crack in it?
Thank you.

Re: Si Transmission question.
ya just cover it up and run with it if anything seems out of place then stop quikcly but swapping a tranny in and out is hella easy plus you can find them all over

Re: Si Transmission question.
Good luck swapping over the Si internals -> the 4spd case:

The 4spd is a 5spd trans with a few changes: spacer collars in place of 5th gear and 5th gear sleeve assembly, different shift fork rods and no 5th gear shift fork, no reverse lockout.
Swap the gear stacks and ring gear to the 4spd case along with the shift fork assembly and add the reverse lockout in. You'll need to shim the mainshaft.

Re: Si Transmission question.
I'm just going to cover it.
Swapping the case would be a fun project. But I don't have the time to do all of that.
