The harness running through the firewall is also a bit different : controlled by the push button on the manual AC version and controlled by the Yellow wire coming from the ECU on the JDM version. The yellow wire only controls the compressor on the manual AC but also controls the 2 ventilators on the auto-AC version.

So, a few mods are needed on the harness.

You also have to drill a hole in the heater core to adapt the inner air T° sensor and also adapt the RHD water valve control module to the LHD heater core. Also a water T° sensor must be added at the bottom of the heater core.

All these mods are needed to have a fully working Auto-AC. Not using the sensors won't prevent it from blowing cold air but your AC won't regulate the T° inside the car properly.

This is it !
You're right. Now I have big problem, because i dont have jdm auto a/c control relay. I dont have output temperature sensor too- but this sensor I try to match.

I have a favour to ask you: could you check/ measure the resistance of the outside air temperature sensor taking into account three different temperatures? I have to choose the right one but I don't have its parametres.

I tried to measure the sensors yesterday... But my ohm-meter doesn't work... (

So I can't tell you... But the easier would be to use the stock sensors :

- interior air temp. sensor is located in the control panel
- water temp. sensor is located at the bottom of the heater core
- exterior air temp. sensor is located in the front bumper
( just below the right headlight )

Try to find these from junkyards in the UK... It's easy to find there !!!!!!!

You can find it here :

http://www.marklamond.co.uk/products...f9_cluster.pdf

But you need a VSS ( Vehicle Speed Sensor ) at the gearbox.

SiR clusters won't work with 'cable' speed sensors.

( I think you can use the USDM B16A2 VSS or the JDM B16A1's one )

I am debating selling my auto-aircon setup. I believe I have everything to convert over to auto-aircon but I may be selling the Crx

How is it coming for both Regis and Spurek? Any luck so far?

Hi Shane !

On my end I'm just missing time at the moment to achieve the project ( I'm touring Europe following U2 in all their european concerts... ) but I've solved all the problems I had ( mainly thanks to you !!! ).

So, in mid-october : I will achieve the project ! I will post the whole solution here !!! )

I'm 100% sure it will work as it will be wired EXACTLY as in a true JDM EF8 using ALL the stock Honda parts !

So Shane, you're thinking of selling your CR-X... I almost did it a couple of years ago... I wanted a S-2000 or a NSX... But selling my CR-X would have been like... Selling my soul ! So now : I will achieve this project... ! And take the Rex back on the street !

I actually stumbled upon this thread via google searching for info, more specifically looking for a REAL EF8 JDM manual to download so that I could get a wiring schematic to figure this exact thing out. I'm a wiring nut, but without having all the stuff that you yourself have in front of you, it is a tad bit more difficult, but I'm sure I'd be able to conjure this up real quick if I had all the stuff! lolz

Unfortunately between markets who offered the auto aircon, there are differences in the wiring of it all, not in terms of WHERE wires LEAD, but WHAT COLOR wires are. So wire A in the Japanese Manual with color X is actually the same as wire B in the French manual as wire Y, only difference is the insulation color.

I've been searching for and enhancing photos of schematics that I have found online. Unfortunately the schematic photos that you have posted are not only crappy resolution, the size of the photo itself is tiny!

Do you happen to have the full JDM manual that has the wiring schematics since you posted the photo above with the red circled portion? If so, is it possible that you could send it to me?

Also, in your post of #28, you posted info about the difference of the manual AC button and the automatic AC controller, is that portion of the harness cut, or intact to the rest of any portion of harness? Either way, I have a buddy I work with that is from France, and may be able to help me get those schematics you have in that post translated if you can scan them and send them my way.

I **** with wiring a lot, and schematics for me are easy to read, if you can help me with schematics and better pics of all of the parts/connectors, I can help you get this wired up and working. If anything, shoot me a PM and we can talk via e-mail to help one another out. Searching for schematics and enhancing poor quality uploads is a real pain in the ***!!

@ regis-crx: could you please send me the jdm wiring diagrams. I am also working on this same aircon install. I'm very close to 100% functional. My friend is a honda tech and a wiring genius. Maybe the diagrams you have can help finish this project. I will post if it is a success. Thank you. My email is momocrx@yahoo.com.

The diagrams I sent him are in Japanese, hope you can read Kanji, Katakana and Hiragana

There are 3 types of climate controls offered for the EFs:

Manual (everything is cable controlled except a/c button)
Push Button (Has push buttons, still need to twist heat/cool)
Auto Aircon (push buttons, uses 1 cable)

All Civics in the US came with Manual.
All Crxs in the US came with Push Button.
Auto Aircon was both a factory install and a dealer option. Wiring MAY be different between the two.

And... I've also discovered that...

Auto-Aircon systems do have 2 different wiring harness depending on the fact that you have ECU PGMFi engine ( EF8 - B16A1 or D16 ) or a dual carb engine on other EF models.

The engine bay harness are different !

So before buying your set-up ( and the correct wiring harness... ), be sure of the CRX model the parts were removed from !!! And if it will match with YOUR CR-X !!!

Im hoping the only extra on the engine harness is the outside air sensor. I received that with the duel carb harness. I wired that to the black/yellow power to the ecu. I'm still messing with the fan speeds but after that I will fire it up and see what happens. Everything is mounted so I'm hoping this weekend I will have some more info.

From my understanding, that is the only thing that goes to the engine cabin. Although they may have located some of the resistors out there, like Honda usually does.

How far are you guys with your installation?
I have a fully working Auto A/C in my '90 EDM Civic and I have a seperate, full JDM inside wireloom with the Auto A/C (which goes from taillights to headlights) and the JDM air seperator with heating core (don't know what the correct word is in English) with OEM brackets to compare with the EDM.
Maybe I can help?
