Re: REAR DISK BRAKE CONVERSION w/pics (crx_si-r)
i just did a rear disk setup on my 89 dx hb using 91 crx si rear disks & swaybar, DA integra E-brake cables bc the crx ones are to short for a HB, Da integra 40/40 prop valve, brand new Crx Si master cylinder w/lifetime warranty from autozone, new oem rear rotors w/ ceramic pads, front brembo cross drilled /slotted rotors w/ ceramic pads, and Stainless steel Braided brake lines . and i can stop on a dime.. iv never been more happier

Why did you drop the fuel tank? That is totally unnecessary. You just created a lot more work for yourself.

The 4040 is not the correct proportioning valve for a Civic with 7CLP13S rear calipers and the stock small unmarked front calipers for 9.5" discs. The correct proportioning valve for that setup is from a '92-95 Civic EH3 Si non-ABS.
The 4040 is used for 7CLP13S rears with 17CL14VN fronts.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT use any arms from the Integra other than the trailing arm, or else you will have major wheel alignment problems. The trailing arm is the ONLY arm you can use from the Integra.

Yes.

You can't reuse your cables. You have to use DA Integra cables (on a Civic) or '90-91 CRX Si cables (on a CRX). The fittings are different for drums vs. calipers.

Re: (CRX_CRAZY07)
Yo I got my rear disks off a 94 teg.. I am gonna be putting them on within the next few weeks.. From my search I found everything is gonna work, but I am gonna buy some 90-93 brake hoses. I will let you know how it works out when I am done.

I don't know if I even want to go there Why bother even changing the prop valve from stock at all if you're just going to put another wrong one on?

Ask yourself this: Why would a 4040 be the correct proportioning valve for the D273/9.5" unmarked front calipers with 7CLP13S rears? A car with such a configuration was not given a 4040 valve. The only car that ever came stock with that configuration from Honda was the non-ABS EH3. 4040s were found on cars with 17CL14VN fronts and 7CLP13S rears.
You and I both know that trying to decipher the proportioning valves are a crapshoot anyway. I've just defaulted to recommending a valve from a car with the closest stock brake configuration to the intended hybrid setup (with some exceptions being made for '96-00 Civics).

I hate the EG forum. They only answer questions that deal with JDM road flares and carbon fiber center caps for Rota wheels. Good luck getting a technical answer
