just look at them all ( if going to a junk yard. From what I READ ONLINE... GSR is the one you want...
That doesn't sound good to me though, the GSR is the special edition, so im sure it'd come loaded with ABS
Just check online, get a part number

Here comes the ney sayers. Lots of them on this forum.
Show me the differance in the brake pedal travel amount.
You can use your stock MC and booster with your new crx or DA integra rear trailing disc brakes.
Yes a 15/16 MC would be " more " brake pressure resulting in quicker " lock ups "
but my stock dx MC on my Si conversion civic hatch is more than enough pressure with CRX trailing arms and " 4040 " valve.
I can yes, stop on dimes. Plenty of pressure and travel length.
As far as boosters go, yea if they have the wrong pattern get the matching booster...
I have actually flipped my brake booster to finish off the wire tuck. Insted of being top driver corner is in passenger bottom corner. ( the vacuum tube )
Final word of advice man, Any DC integra NON ABS 1" MC and booster will work.
Took me another whole 5 seconds to search it online, I know i've found it before because I once was going to do it myself.
Best of luck. Definitly good to learn.

2nd, when it comes to brakes I don't skimp on anything, and neither should you. When I upgraded to rear discs, I also bought a new stock booster, new EX master cylinder, 4040 valve, EX front knuckles, BFGoodrich braided lines, and ATE fluid. My point is, brakes are nothing to **** around with. It makes me uncomfortable when people on here have the "eh, its good enough" attitude about brakes.
And have you ever had to change a brake booster in your car? It sucks, and have fun trying to get the prop rod adjusted correctly between the two after the fact. It's much easier to just buy the EX master cylinder and bolt it on. Took me less than 15 minutes when I did mine. No civic this generation ever came with a 1" master cylinder, so I would deem that unnecessary unless you were planning on taking the car to the track.

Re: REAR DISK BRAKE CONVERSION w/pics
I’m getting closer to doing this project on my 1990 Civic Si. I have my 4040 prop valve $7 from a junkyard, trailing arms with calipers $40 from Craigslist. I got new discs from Advance Auto for $6 each after 40% off coupon. New DA parking brake cables $30 ($10 left, $12 right $8 shipping) from Rockauto. One of my two calipers is seized so I guess I’ll add that to my junkyard list. My trailing arms came without the big trailing arm bushings, I will probably use stock bushings are those difficult to install?

Re: REAR DISK BRAKE CONVERSION w/pics
I've done 3 rear disk swaps myself. Two on EH hatches and one on my 1990 Si hatch. This is what I've learned from experience. First off I have never done the 4040 valve and I really can't tell you if it makes any difference. I guess when it comes down to it I would recommend just doing the swap and then seeing if you think you need the 4040 valve. it would save time, money and aggravation upfront and you can always do it later.
1: My first hatch was totally raced out, it handled like a beast and braking was never a concern even without a 4040 valve.
2: The second swap I did was on an all stock VX with like 512k miles on it. It was a friends and he never had any complaints.(this was just the disk swap. Not lines valves booster or cylinder)
3: The last one I did on my 1990 si. I did upgrade the master cylinder/booster but only after having first done the actual swap and test driving it. It reduced a notable amount of brake pedal travel and braking overall felt more confident because of it. Bench bleeding it though was a pain. Getting it installed after bench bleeding without letting air in also was also a pain. I do have braided lines upfront but not in the back. In fact my rear brake lines are from the junk yard. I did save some time by getting a pair of scarebird rear disk brake swap brackets. If I ever do another swap that's the way I'll do it. I saved myself the trouble of having to remove and replace the trailing arms and I didn't need an alignment after it was complete either.
Final thoughts? Yeah you can do a rear brake swap on a budget. and no it's not rocket science. a new booster cylinder from the store is best for an upgrade. Each one I found in a junk yard had internal leaks. As long as you have no leaks and no air in the system you can get by with just the rear brakes. lastly the VX I did had to be done on two different weekends. So for two weeks my friend was riding around with half a rear disk swap. Again he had no complaints and with only have one drum brake on his car.
