question about cluster plugs
my 88 crx has a dc teg cluster in it right now and obviously the speedo isn't working so i want to take it out and put a crx cluster back in it . If I get the plugs from a ef hatch or sedan at the junkyard(since the dickhole before me cut my factory crx plugs off) will they plug right into my 88 crx as long as the hatch or sedan is a 88-91?
You can use the cable or you can use the electronic in the tranny.
Both get the job done, but of course it will depend on the cluster you use.
Here's a write up for how the DC cluster and VSS get installed to a stock CRX

As you can see, you are going to be missing mounting tabs and the connectors when you go to put the CRX cluster back in.
There are differences in the 88/89 and 90/91 cluster wiring as well as the cluster and cluster hood.
