Paint Removal??
When i bought my 90 CRX it had been painted. The door handles and trim had all been painted over with silver. How do i remove the paint from the door handles and rubber side trim so i can have the original look again? Thanks

Re: Paint Removal??
Two ways to do it.
One- Remove the door handle from the door. But that involves removing the door panel. Care must be given around the edges because the pop rivets are plastic.
Two- Mask around the door handle with wide tape. Have an exacto knife for trimming. Attach a wide piece of paper like a shopping bag from the glass down to door edge. Cut hole slightly larger than door handle. Tape to previous applied masking tape.
You do not want to let any paint remover get on the door.
Since the door handle is black plastic, first lift the handle and apply a small amount of remover under the door handle to see a reaction on the plastic. If no bad reaction and you see a smooth matte black finish, apply remover to door handle and trim. Follow directions for removal. Don't let any of it get on the car paint.

Re: Paint Removal??
if the prep work before paint was crap, I suspect you can peel it right off once you get it started from an edge.
stock look was correct and the best, anything else is worse.
props to you for making it look RIGHT again.
