Well i just did a motor build and the oil light started to flash,Well i looked around on Honda-tech and did'nt find to much so i did all the above first i changed the sending unit thinking it could be clogged from just having the motor rebuilt thinkin maybe some metal shaving or some honda bond, So i put a new sending unit The same thing it still flashed not right away but after awhile like warm up Thought the oil pump was bad But it was a brand new one well after some checking of the wiring i found out that theres a INTEGRATED CONTROL unit which is part of the fuse box well that was the problem the unit had a short...
So if anyone has this type of problem you can check that out before you go out and buy a new oil pump...
Found out it can happen from peeps trying to hook up alarms when the alarm shops look for a HOT source to hook up the alarm or stero stuff...
Well i'll post up some pics later just wanted to give some peeps a heads up if they didnt know what it is or if anyone ever has the same problem...
PEACE...

It could have also meant oil starvation. Either not at full mark on dipstick or a leak somewhere and sufficient oil leaking when driving. There is an oil pressure sending unit switch one above oil filter and one on vtec heads. When low pressure light is on warning low oil.

***OIL LIGHT is Flashing ON not Constantly ON**
All the stuff mentioned was taken in by consideration before the motor was assembled. My motor work knowledge and assembly knowledge speaks for itself from all the customers i have had in the past and presently. I used and searched for similar situations here on H-T and results are all the same. "change oil pump, change pressure sending unit/s, and all necessary things that will cause oil to flow, read, or even leak".
What happens to the situation when its all purchased brand spanking new from OEM, OEM Replacement Parts, or even Numerous Automotive Parts stores??
This is just a suggestion its not saying this is the main problem but something to look at. Not all would consider looking into specifics. But you can easily trace back solutions in the Haynes Manual. That manual is where i found out the answer of why the oil light keeps flashing.
Main Fuse Box under driver side Interior example being used is a DA

Part Number

Fuse Box Taken Out and Removed Parts to show location

Integrated Control Unit Located in the back Of Fuse Box

Exposed Integrated Control Unit Board

Top View and Part location of Failure

Burnt Heat Spot on Board Zoomed IN

Burnt Spot Pointed Out Far View

Please Refer to Page 12-28 Chpt 12 Chassis Electrical System On Haynes Manual for Acura Integra (1990-1993) and Chilton Manual for 84-91 Civic/Crx page 6-96 Chassis
Electrical. Its all have to do with wiring.

finally you give some half-way decent information. but what you described would be a solid oil light, not a flashing light. you are wrong, yet again. what a surprise.

The solid oil pressure light stays on because the person hasn't filled the engine up to full at all. The Flashing oil pressure light blinks or flashes because it is warning the driver that oil pressure is okay when driving fine. A flash comes on when you are beating on it because there is no oil for the oil pump to feed off in the oil pan. Its like a straw and a cup of water you drink calm. But when you use vacuum as the oil pump it sucks all the water rapidly. The light flashes because the original creator is beating on it not realizing that he has low oil pressure level. And Streetwerkz + 1988hondacrxsiR1= Best Friends 4 life. I dunno lets see if we can make it until 2010. Good luck MOE@Hyper16Valve

Did you read the flashing light comes on for the short in the relay part that i show the oil light that comes on and stays on thats not the problem here if you want to start your own thread about the oil light that just stays on then do so...
My thread is to inform peeps with a flashing oil light flashing means there is a short in the wiring...
Now if the oil light just stays on then you would do the following check the oil level, check oil pressure, check or even change oil pump...
Now i just did a rebuild and all that was done fresh oil, fresh oil filter, fresh oil pump, fresh oil pressure sending unit and the problem is the oil light started to flash or blink and the problem was the intergarted control unit and nothing else...

Glad you found the problem. Problems in the integrated control unit can be difficult to diagnose.
Just wanted to note that ef civics dont have the oil light wired through the icu.
