yesterday my oil light came on so i went and got some more oil and i filled it up i was driving home and the light suddenly came on again i was like wtf? then i parked at home and waited for 2 hours and check the dip stick and it shows 1/4in of oil over the second hole i was driving today and the light came on a couple of times

should i buy a new pump? what can it b?

dont drive with that light on. you will destroy your motor if that pump aint working. is the head getting oil.That’s one way to tell if your pump works. Get an oil pressure gauge and test it.

the oil light doesn't tell you whether you have oil or not...it tells you whether you have oil PRESSURE or not. If you have no oil pressure, you head and bearings could have been getting starved...which can cause catastrpohic damage.

do not drive the car!!!!

be sure it isn't a faulty sensor by having a mechanic hook up a mechanical gauge and test the system.

please somebody tell me if all b oil pumps are the same im getting a good deal on a b20 oil pump brand new but i dont know if it will fit

you will need the b16 oil pump (or a b-series from a VTEC motor). The b20 oil pump isn't designed to rev as high as the b16 one, and the oil will start to froth if you push the b20 pump to higher engine speeds.
