Noise when starting car cold...comes with video
Strange noise when i start my car after not starting for about 10 hours. It can be hot or cold outside, it will still make noise as long as its been overnight without starting...I thought it was a bearing in the alternator area, so i replaced my alternator bearing, but noise is still there...What else could this be...it seems like its coming from the pulley side. It only lasts about 10 seconds or so. When i start it, the noise doesn't come for about 5 seconds, then it starts and continues for about 10 seconds. Then its gone for the day...It pisses me off i want to find it. Is it a bearing somewhere ? could it be from the pulley? thanks for any opinions!
Here is the video! The noise starts at 13 seconds and ends around 30 seconds....bizarre

You can't really tell where it clicking from your video. By the time you get there the clicking ends. to me it sounds like a normal valve tick on start up.

I hear it. It sounds like a gremlin at first lol. Have you tried adjusting the belt tension on the alternator? Or replaced the alternator belt? Timing belt noise is usually louder, whinier than that. Good luck, I have an intermittent rattle in my engine bay I've been chasing for months.

Sounds like a bearing to me. Even though it is a new alt it could be defective. try starting without belt to eliminate it. If it is not that it could be water pump bearing.

Timing belt tensioner, they usually change that when the water pump is replaced.
Take the cover off and start it, it's not to hard to change.
