I wanted to fix it, then I started peeling off undercoat...

As much as I don't like seeing another crx lost to the east coast salt and 28 years of previous owners not taking care it, the engine is going into my "new" way less rusty toy, err daily driver, that's what I meant (picking it up tomorrow)

Dang! Gotta love the rust. Ive seen crx scrapped with less rust than this. What a shame people have to scrap cars. This crx needs more patch panels and welding than its worth. No need to feel bad about scrapping in the end once you salvage all parts off of it.

Well, I've had a few people suggest cutting/welding, when I asked if they would do it they all declined of course. I'm learning to weld correctly (from people who do it for a living) maybe I'll find a place to store the shell if nobody wants it, go all mad max on it someday.

chop the shell apart and crush it.
one less on the road makes the good ones go up in value

I guess it depends on the area, even in good shape they aren't worth crap around here, but hatches are stupid expensive (in comparison).
