My CRX complete makeover.
Previous build thread
Well my car is in desperate need of a make over so this winter will be focused on doing just that. I have decided on painting the car championship white. On the roster for this project is swap the 89 doors our for 88's, with removed side impact beams. The Si roof will be replaced with a HF roof, no sunroof! Also a Full NASA/SCCA/NDRA/NHRA legal cage will be fabricated, and installed. I'm also contemplating installing the Fal Lexan window kit, but I'm still on the fence on that one. The motor is coming out, and the engine bay will get repainted, and a few more items will be shaved as well.
My USB ports on my computer are fried, but I have a new computer I will have together this week so I will have updates later on.
The car basically isn't built for any specific reason other than to please me. It's kinda a Swiss army knife. Good for all occasions, but not great for any one.
I have installed GSR blades now which will be used for long trips, and this spring it is getting 4 bronze volk TE-37s with RA-1's for track days, and basic driving, and a set of M&H 24x8" Slicks on Jegs Drag race wheels for the straight line occasions. Now that I have a good bit a power I refuse to ever try todrag race on street tires agin. It is pointless.
Here is a before pic, and the first progress pic with the newly acquired Mugen kit, and wing, and a pic of the vision of what it will be.

Yep new body parts, repaint, on the fence about seam welding it too.

This #2 of the "Bart the Builder" threads. There are more to come, once this is done I'm gonna super charge my Z6 in my beater, and rebuild it, and then the K20 will be getting rebuilt next winter. Somewhere in between I'm gonna stretch the wheelbase 15" on my samurai, build a cage for it, and lower it a few inches and install sway away coil-overs. I might even make a thread in the fabrication forum for that here too. Stay tunned one project at a time this one will be finished first and foremost, then the new projects will be started. I hate having more than one project going on at the same time, but for some reason it always seems to happen.
I promise better pics this time too. That why I'm waiting till I get my new computer going. I have pics on my cell, but I'm not posting anymore cell phone pics.

Re: (gospeedgo1)
So your basically building the exterior of your car to replocate a car that already exists? And really doesnt even look good at all?
Champ white is NOT a crx colour, just never looks right

I rock the fake Mugen front, the rest of the kit is real. Reason being the front sits lower, and I don't want to kill a real front. Oh and I am not going to actually RR the car, just TT. I don't want to kill the car.

Well thats your opinion. I actually like it. I'm not sure if those cars I posted are even champ white. The one racing appears to be though. I don't like flashy color, and I like it simple white is simple.
BTW thanks for all the positive responses everyone else.

I don't knw why you guys don't like white. I've been on the fence on color for about a year now, and white makes the most sense for me. Simple, clean, and reflects sunlight for lower underhood, and in cabin temps.

Yeah I like simple. Thats kinda the theme of the car. Simplicity is key. No unwanted weight, no heat, no A/C, manual windows, no positive manifold pressure, and a simple plain jane white paint job. Although the bronze will probally set it off a bit. Not that that is the goal, I just have always wanted bronze TE-37s 8.6bls, and a beautiful shade of bronze and a simple design. I guess I'm just a simple person.
