My 91 Civic dx sedan b series build
ANOTHER ONE
yep just a lowly 91 dx sedan i felt needed saving. Virtually rust free chassis up here in wisconsin is a rarity, so the money pit it becomes. Started by buying the car from a buddy who had it for several years. He added a b16 and ran it for a while, then began a teardown and converted to a b20v motor. Got it together enough to start, but "it ran like crap" so the project got shelved for 2 years. Thats where i came in and bought the car, not running. This is what i know about it
91 civic dx sedan
b20b bottom end
12.5:1 supertech pistons
Arp rod bolts and head studs
new bearings
b16a head
type r cams
B16 cable trans
First thing i did to the car was ditch the stock wiring harness. Full of sketchy splices and butt connectors, i purchased a rywire obd1 budget tuck harness. Battery had been relocated to the trunk at some point, and was completely dead. Picked up a braille b129 battery for it. A powersports battery that weighs 9.5 pounds. No ac, no p/s, it can handle the task.
I reached out to Rcautoworks in bridgeview. il to help me with tuning. I brought him my ecu and he gave me a chip to get my car running. Will be visiting him for some valvetrain work before final tune, pending a perfect bill of health once its running. Great dude.
Slowly but surely, im making progress. Ditched the stock fan for a slim ebay, began the wire tuck on the engine bay(still in process), and started tidying things up as i go. I am almost ready to start the engine, want to change the oil, add fresh gas and prime it before firing. Wish me luck. Will be adding updates as i go, not sure if anyone uses forums anymore for build threads....

in my opinion the forums are for the people that trully love cars
everything else is for the kids
looks like your sedan is in great shape by that pic
now dont you think it would be wise to only focus on getting it running before messing with anything else?
you know get it alive and breathing
or are you just confident ^_-

Wow I forgot about this. So update!
I bought an OBD1 b18c from hmotors.
I had manual gearbox LLC build me an OEM GSR trans with mfactory lsd.
rywire OBD1 budget tuck harness
JDM p72 (Yes I wired in the IAB)
she's in and everything ready to go back together I'm literally just stopped on super small stuff. I bought fortune 500 coilovers and mpc drop forks I haven't installed yet.
Exhaust needs to be welded to work haven't fired up the motor yet. Changed timing belt and all the good stuff in thereHave 205/50/15 gram lights going on too. I can't wait but also I have been dragging. Sold the b20, moved out of that house into another. Car will be done soon......

Re: My 91 Civic dx sedan b series build
honestly I'm running the exact same axles that came with the car that ran the b20. I do not know exactly what they are, but I'm guessing definitely not 94 Acura, most likely 90-93 Integra axles
