Default Misfires or what?

Last week I adjusted my valves and changed my oil on my 91 honda civic DX hatch within the regular time I usually do it(2500 miles). Anyways, when I was taking out the spark plug wires to get the valve cover off to adjust valves, these plug wires were definetely not HONDA parts at all. They would split apart from rip in half. So now I'm pissed because I have half of a spark plug wire stock in a cylinder. So two out of the four break completely. I get the valve cover off and take needle nose plyers and get the rest of the spark plug wires out. I adjusted my valves to proper specs, then I did some quick fixing of these wires. Car fires up and sounds alot better and quieter then before. The next day I'm cruising down the highway at about 70 miles an hour and I come up to a stop light to stop and all of a sudden my car starts to shake like a son of a bitch. I'm thinking its either out of timeing all of a sudden, or bad plug wire. Today I pulled plug from cylinder 3 while it was running and it had to difference.. so It is in cylinder number 3. The thing is these wires were fine after I fixed them no misfires at all. The spark plugs are the NGK platinums.. they are only 2 months old. So I don't know how all of a sudden a plug wire can go bad when cruising down the highway? The car starts and runs... just not healthily. Anyone know any reasons why this would just happen all of a sudden?

By the way I checked all of plug connections to motor and distributor they are all connected and securely on.

Please help me out. Just a noob looking for some answers.

Sparkplug wires transmit 10,000+ volts. If you broke the inusulation or boot, then that thing WILL eventually leak all those little volts to ground and car = run like ****.

you know the plug wires are suspect. replace them.
