There is a guy that has a 91 crx si silver with 23xxx original miles who lives 2 houses from me he only drives the car to the train station from his house(5-10 blocks) original owner puts the thing in his garage I have never seen a cleaner crx before I will try and get some pics up soon I will talk to him and ill show picks of the inspection and odometer and everything the car is so sick.........I would never be able to buy it from him if he was selling it I wouldnt have the heart to pull the motor and swap it

That's a great deal on that car !!! I mean sure, its automatic and not a Si, and sure it was $6900 BRAND NEW !!! But I think its worth $18K at least !!!

Actually it would be very close if possible. A frame off restoration, take everthing apart, replace or rehab every piece, rebuild motor, replace glass, rubber, seals, stickers, wheels, tires, remove everything from body and sand or otherwise remove everything down to the metal, straighten undersides, bolts, frame, crossmembers, replace/rebuild motor on and on..

I once spent 9K on a frame off repaint of a 240z. Took the guy 6 months. Was not a a restore, but similar and I did all of the heavy removal of all running gear, motor, trans, suspension.. on and on.

A pristine 5 speed 90/91 CRX Si, low miles, showroom stock with off the showroom floor condition would bring, I expect from the right buyer on auction, around 20k. prolly not the usual honda-tech CRX-EF forum member though.

Give it time.

The first car I ever bought was a 68 road runner in 68 for 2200. Today there are versions of that car that can exceed 100k if they have the right options and appearance.

That's insane. I mean, even the most hardcore rex fan wouldn't pay that much. Plus, it's not an exotic car or anything. It's a rex. It was a hot car back in the day IMO

I love crx's and would love to have a low mileage one, but I would never pay 15k for one. i would rather buy a rex for cheap and spend the rest of the money working on it and fixing everything.

Either way you can restore a crx to original condition... You can restore ANYTHING to a original condition.. But technically its impossible to restore it. DMV or whoever has the records of how many miles it has and that such, its being original which makes it costy. Sure it isnt worth $15,000 but its worth quite a bit IMO. I Wouldnt push into the 10's, maybe $9k at most.

I really doubt that he put 113k on the car in less than 2 years
That would be over 150 miles a day, everyday for 22 months for that to be correct.

I have a friend who works at the Department of Motor Veichles Emmission Center, they do have typos alot of the time, and if they forget to check the milage before they get out of the car they sometimes just make something up. I would say based on the other dates that he or she is telling the truth about the actual milage.

I still think 15k is insane!!!! Maybe 10k if it was 100% Origional and less than 5k miles on it.

Black '88 CRX-SI, last time I saw it, just hit 19,000 miles. Its owned by a 65 year old. Drives it only 3-4 times a year. Owns like 10 cars. A retired engeering from a well known domestic company,lol.

I met the guy at a gas station. I actually noticed how mint the car was. Traded phone numbers and show me the list of people that are very interest in buying the car.

Supposlly, his younger brother (I he said like 55) owns a '89 CRX-SI with only 5,000 miles up North somewhere. He claims he was already contacted someone from Honda of America.

I was suppose to meet him a few months ago for me to takes pics, since I asked him if I could. That weekend, we had one of the 6 hurricanes that came through here.

Yes, it has always been garage kept.

The other was, about 6 months ago. I saw an ad in the for a '89 CRX-SI. I call up and told me it was sold the same day. I asked what color it was, told me it the infamous Yellow, (forgot the paint code=i used to owned one and totaled it,lol). I asked him "how much did he get rid of it", he said $1800.

2 weeks later, I see a '89 Yellow CRX at car stereo shop. Ask the owner since he was leaving if he wanted to sell it. Told me he just picked it up for $1800 and was going to add $3500 in stereo equiment. So I peak in the interior, ******* 75,000 miles.

That day, I told myself that will be the last time I see a mint yellow CRX for under $5000.

You know those guys probably have little contests in the office to see who can get the coolest old honda with the lowest mileage.

I'm sure that carfax report is supposed to say 14,000. I bet there are tons of people calling up and telling him he's full of ****, citing the carfax report. I'd be pissed about that. Kinda like how my crx has an 'exceeds mechanical limits' on the title from 109k miles...

but, you don't get to enjoy it in every way. Just like the model you might enjoy walking down the mall with that arm candy but that is the height of the relationship. While with the car you might enjoy looking at it but you wil never get to enjoy it in all the possible ways.

Oh, don't think I like to sit around and look at a car, to me, a show car is the biggest waste of metal there is. If we were meant to just look at cars, they wouldn't have put engines in there, and made them easier to push.

We both are on the same page, but there are alot of people whose main reason for getting a car is due to the way it looks. ex. apperance/cosmetic forum.

By no means do i believe that there is something wrong with aving a nice looking car but at what expense. Some people are willing to sacrifice everything to reach that goal something i'm not willing to do.
