Help with setting up VTEC on a D16A6 with a Y8 Head
Let me start by saying I'm sure the info is out there but I have a hard time finding it even after hours of looking. So i have my 1988 crx si running good but now I need to know how to get vtec running. Heres what I got
D16A6 bottom end
Y8 head
Y8 Belt
OBD0 (stock) ecu
A6 dizzy
A6 injectors
I was wondering what are the ways I can activate vtec?
I realize the "safest" and most "effective" is to convert to OBD2 but I'm lacking a lot of the y8/z6 parts and the car is already running on obd0 everywhere else. So is there a good obd0 ecu I could get chipped? How does one "one wire vtec"? Do you get a socketed ecu and a chip with a vtec setting that goes to the "one wire" that I assume you plug in or splice and connect to the vtec solenoid wire? I'm sorry I'm so dumb I'm just new to hondas and have learned a lot but not enough to set up the vtec yet.
