Default I am an "EF" owner once again.

Five years ago, I bought a CRX and did stuff to it:

Two years ago, a guy ran a red and hit me, totalling the car and I got this:

I've been looking for a super cheap EF project ghetto- spec sedan ever since. Why a sedan? They're not too much heavier than a hatch, and... well... nobody would suspect a grocery getter. Today, I found one. '90 DX sedan, automatic. Slight front end damage (needs new bumper cover), won't start, tranny's busted (darn!), minimal rust. $100. I'm about as happy as a riceboy locked in the APC warehouse.

Goal:
A barely street legal road race/ autox/ smackdown car.

Plans (and don't hold me to this):

Total gut. Now, to some people, gutting a car means taking the rear interior out, while leaving the stereo, HVAC, seats, ect in the car. Not me. Oh no... When I say gutted, I mean *EVERYTHING* that is not absolutly essential to the drivability and not needed to pass inspection. I'm talking about taking the rear doors apart and removing the crank mechanism for the windows and replacing the glass behind the B pillar with lexan. I'm talking about cutting apart wiring harnesses to remove wires that were for the dome light, trunk light, lights for the HVAC controls, ect. I'm talking about taking the dash completely out and removing anything that even remotely resembles a ventilation duct. I'm talking about removing the bumper supports (or only leaving the part that supports the bumper cover, the trunk and hood bracing, and the interior metal door skins. Gutted.

Power:
Turbo ZC w/ ZC LSD tranny.

Handling:
The usual crap- springs, shocks, sways, welded in roll cage, wheels, tires.

Brakes:
Fastbrakes or maybe '90- '94 Accord wagon brakes.

Aerodynamics:
Now, this is something that's overlooked by about 99.9% of the import guys. Save for JGTS, I don't see anyone seriously trying to improve the handling of the car via aerodynamics. All I'm going to say about this aspect right now is that over the next year or so, you're going to see some pretty sick **** that will put the import community on its ear.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll be asking alot of questions. My EF knowledge is kinda rusty since it's been tainted with EG info.

Old school? Mm... To me, old school is pre '88. I'd love to find an SB1 ('73- '79 Civic), but they're too rare in decent condition, and the ones that are in good shape... well, I can't justify spending $3000 on a 25 year old stock Civic.

Well, that's Cali. See, here in New England, we have something called winter, a time during which the evil DOT spreads Honda- hating salt all over the roads.

Another theory is that there was a factory installed New England rust package included as an incentive, that unfortunately, most new Honda buyers forgot to delete from the options list...
