Default How to remove breather chamber or pcv box

I need to replace breather chamber because it might be clogged. Do I need to remove intake manifold first to remove breather chamber? Or can I do it under? If it is not necessary to replace, then is there any way to clean it up?

Thanks

you can get to it from underneath, just like changing the oil filter.

theres a 10mm head bolt. then it just pops off the back.

youll find under the neoprene case, its just a hollow metal box. just clean it up. but i highly doubt its "clogged" or is any source any issue. if anything, the PCV valve would be clogged.

you CAN remove it and plug the hole up with a freeze plug. you really dont need the PCV system as long as you still vent the top of the valve cover.

Actually, I already replaced pcv valve due to engine vibration and leaky oil all around. after replacing pcv valve, vibration reduced but still there and leak oil almost stopped. Therefore, I checked pcv hose (im side) again, I found gunk and oil build up inside hose, so I thought pcv system (crank side) clogged in somewhere too.

I replaced due to engin vibration
spark plugs, spark plug wire, pcv valve, injectors, cleaned iacv, cleaned tb.

Also, I opened oil cap while idling. pressure comes out and oil jumped out every where. I assumed that it had problem on blow by gas.

please help.. Thanks

Yeah, it is vibrating side to side while idling at stop. My battery and radiator also vibrates. When engine is hot enough, it is more vibrating at D and R. It seems to be less at P and N gear.

I check motor mounts. However, there is no visible damage.

Actually, I am not sure which one is culprit pcv or motor mounts.

Thanks for your help.

hmmm you have an auto tranny...

it just doesnt sound at all PCV related. seems like its misfiring? i would have guessed the plug wires, but youve replaced that already.

perhaps its that auto tranny... i have no clue on that stuff. but youre barking up the wrong tree with the PCV stuff.

Sounds like the idle is set too low or badly in need of a tune up.

Thanks tyson.

Engine does not have misfire but just vibrates and shakes side to side. Also, trans was rebuilt last year. Only things that I didn't replace are rotor and dizzy cap.

Also, I observed once I pinched pcv hose, it took more than 6 sec to return to original shape. As I know, if I pinch pcv hose, engine idle should change at the moment. However, there is no change of idling.

Maybe I am wrong, so I need your help.

Thanks
