HOW TO MOUNT SEAT BELTS??
just picked up a set of racing seats for my 88 crx, looking for a way to put my 4 point harnesses in. i was wondering if there was any way that i could take the belt off the pillar and mount it in the back so i could clip my 4 point into that and not be locked right up against the seat. ever been done? if so diagrams or explination would be great, also want to be safe. thanks

I have not done this, but a friend of mine got rid of his door mounted seatbelts and welded the mounting points to the car itself. They work good too....

i suggest not bolting the shoulder harnesses to the floor of the back of your crx. if you are ever in an accident, you will stay in the seat, but your back will be severly compressed due to the angle of the shoulder belts. you need to have as close to a 90 degree angle (from the front of seat to where the harness bolts up to) as possible. in my crx, my shoulder harnesses are connected to the strut tower bolts in the back of the car. secure, but not too great a spot. if i get hit in the driver side rear quarter panel and it moves the shock tower back or in, ill probly be hurtin a bit, but im waiting to get a rollcage. the lap belts are bolted to a 1/4in thick by 3in wide piece of metal that runs underneath the floorboard (on the bottom outside of the car) from lap belt bolt to lap belt bolt. that one isnt going anywhere. hope that helps!

But why stop there?? LOL Full roll cage! But seriously, what does the rear racing cage look like?? Where can I see safety options for the sedan?

just do a search for auto power on google or something. you dont want a full cage... not if you are street driving it. the forward overhead bars arent so safe without a helmet if you are in an accident. the rear bar will allow you to run harnesses on the street in a safe manner. but also remember, you probalby need FIA seats to really have the right safety setup for the harnesses and all. I'm a road racing tech inspector, and no harnesses are not legal in my state, but i still would have them. i wrecked my 88 crx taking a hit in the door and the stock seatbelt didnt keep me from hittingmy head on the sunroof , thank god it was closed.

mmsportrexsi touched on some good points reguarding rollcage and fia-rated seats.
i dont think they make roll protection for sedan. so ur kinda outta luck there. for crx, i recommend getting a harness bar or rollbar and real harness. those four point ride up when u tighten the shoulders. not omfortable. but in general, never mount shoulders to the floor. spinal compression will be your friend if u have an insident. shoulders should be 45 degrees max if im not mestaken. and if ur mounting the laps and sub (if u have one) the sub will need a backing plate, eyebolt and snaphook. for the laps, ull need the same, save the backing plates. i know on my 91, even tho i have door mounted seat belts, i have teh threadded holes for the chassis mounted stock belts....accept for the drivers side one that would be on the tunnel. there, i used backing plate.
all this hardware can be found on the http://www.ioportracing.com page.
