Icon2 HKS exhaust

Hello just a got a couple of question about exhaust and stuff. I want to buy an exhaust for my 91 civic hatchback and came upon the HKS LES-H05. I like it because it doesn't sound to loud (from videos I've seen) and looks like the stock Si one. So my question are as followed:

1. Diameter is about 2 inches. Would that be too small/B series friendly? (I have a b18c with 2.5 outlet headers)
2. Anyone have past history with power gain/overall improvements?
3. Other possible exhaust?

Thanks for your time and relative inputs!

I've run a 2" Scorpion exhaust with my B20vtec. Was it choking the engine? Probably.. but it still put down 210whp with a 2.5" collector header and it sounded awesome (not too loud). If you are wanting to get the most hp then you need 2.5" or bigger.

Thanks for the input dude. Yeah I was thinking the HKS would be too small. I also found apexi ws2 I and its 2.36 inches. Just wish they didnt have such a large exhaust tip. I want something quite also.

I just saw the HKS exhaust on ebay, and watched this video.

Seems cool, well made, and reasonably priced.

I transferred the same engine setup from my old EG into Tif's EF and in doing so went from a JIC Bullet exhaust to the HKS Sport exhaust and lost a reasonable amount of power. The biggest difference, though, was the reduction in noise. Well worth the power loss, IMO.

Yeah I want to gain some power. Making the EF into a track. I just hate having a loud exhaust. Seen some apexi videos and it doesnt sound too loud.

If ur running a stock ecu then hks will be fine and u will have the best sounding exhaust on the market. I have a b16 crx with that hks exhaust and its ****.

If your future plans are to upgrade and tune then a custom exhaust is the only way to go.

I've got the tanabe exhuast. I'm soooo happy I bought this one. It's incredibly quite and it's a nice diameter.

I will be running a B20 with Skunk 2 cams in my 91 CRX HF. What size (2.5" ?) exhaust should I use? I want it pretty quiet during normal cruise but would like to hear the power come through during hard acceleration.
The Tanabe sounds like it would be a good choice. What options do I have?

It seems you are willing to spend some money so why not go custom?

Thermal R&D makes an exhaust of that size (~2.5"). I have the 3" exhaust and love it. It's not bad compared to some exhaust systems I've heard. It is pricy though, $500 for the 2.5".

Maybe this is a bad suggestion for the money. The 3" Thermal is the only 3" exhaust for our chassis and it's $600 if you want to go all out.

I have the Tanabe Medallion on my sedan and had the GReddy SP2 on my hatch. Both are great exhausts. I would skip the HKS, too small diameter.
