Help please
Alright I am swapping to the D16y8 temporarily and I ran into a little problem with the wire harness. I bought a CRX SI harness and One plug does not FIT! OMGAWDD! So I need to know exactly what I need for that plug. Below is the pic of it.
Please help. !

So the plug that's swung over your engine won't fit into the one for your car?
You do realise you should NEVER, ever swap harnesses right? And that you should always modify your existing one to meet the new requirements? I hope you do...
Was your car a DX?

So your car is a DX? Well, use your existing harness, and the new Si harness, and do an MPFI swap...

So you're saying just take out the injector wiring from the SI? I was going to activiate the VTEC Via Tachometer. What would be a better suggestion?

Getting the proper ecu and running the proper wires...
VTEC NEEDS the proper fuel maps and timing which you won't get with an rpm activation switch. Wire it up like you would a DX to have a B16, then get your ECU chipped to a Y8 spec (ask CRX Toad). You will love the car more when it runs properly then some rigged up POS.

Good enough. Not the best, but will definitly work. Wire your car from a DX to B16 (look in the FAQ for TONS of wiring info).

Re: (VTEC1n2nd)
Yeah the b16 ecu will run it just fine..However it won't see a knock sensor and 2nd o2 sensor and might run in limp mode..But theres ways around that, you can ground out the knock sensor wire and splice the o2 wire into 1..But it's alot better then running vtec off the shift light on the tach, that's just plain wrong

Re: (VTEC1n2nd)
Actually, i just remembered the d16y8 has a knock sensor ,,,you're just going to have to worry about the 2nd o2 sensor...

No,actually believe it or not the obd0 b16 ecu would be better..Although the p28 is setup for a sohc 1.6 just like the d16y8,,the timing and fuel maps are more different then you would expect.
With the b16 ecu you just have to remember you dont have a b16 and rev to 8200revs
