has anyone tried.....don't want to be first....
will 89 prelude seats come even close to fitting in 90 civic hatch?
I know 90 accord's don't work (and wouldn't look right)
and that integra's will with some work, but I have a chance to pick up seats
from an 89 lude up pretty cheap in good shape..... Keeping in mind I just want to replace the vinyl for these winter days...

I tryed searching a week or two ago, and didn't have any real sucess
I also posted asking what actually fit and noone mentioned older prelude seats
just civic si (of the same year) and tegra seats...
I might have lost the opportunity to get the seats by now anyways
so I guess it's gonna be vinyl for a little longer

You can fit pretty much any Integra, Prelude, Civic, CRX, Del Sol, and yes even Accord seats in your Civic.
You will either have to bolt your rails to the bottom of the new seats or bolt the rails on the new seats to your car. The process should not take any longer than 2-4 hours depending on experience.
So to answer your question, yes. Take your time, you can do it!

Re: has anyone tried.....don't want to be first.... (crxtreme89h)
I've got a set of 90 accord seats in my garage, given to me for the civic, but it would take a good amount of work to get them to bolt in, the rails won't transfer between the two, and the civic seats have their seatbelts bolted in with the seats, whereas the accords don't... I spent a decent amount of time trying to find a way to cross them over without welding and couldn't see any good ways... if someone's accomplished this I would be more than happy to hear what I'm missing and try again...
for sale -- pair of 90 accord front seats light blue in good condition no tears or burns!!

ya man where did u come to this conclusion?
i had trouble even bolting my 90 HF seats into my 90 civic SI!
from what i saw its nearly inpssible to have a simple rail swap to get them to fit.
but that does not keep it from happening with most peopl
