Has anyone here changed their Wimpy Horn?
I would like to change my horn to a louder, deeper one that isn't so embarassing. Have any of you guys done this on our cars? I heard they sell decent ones fairly cheap at places like Pep Boys, is that right? And how hard would it be to install?

I had two air horns till they got water in em. they are a great safety upgrade, can save u from getting ran over by an 18wheeler on the highway when you are driving a lowered crx.

I put in two like universal horns from an autoparts place. i didnt realize they were both different tones though. i have one like normal car horn, like a gm or something, and one really high pitched one, lol.

yeah, I'd say if you have heard a vehicle that you like the (stock) sound of, get that horn from a junkyard or autoparts store

i've thought about that before. and after my wimpy horn recently wasnt loud enough to keep a guy from backing into me , i think i'll get one soon. that will teach me to wait i've been toying with the idea for a year now.

so all these people with air horns.....where in the hell are you getting the air source from?
i suppose that wouldnt be a problem for the turbo people. before you know it they'll have it hooked up to the BOV or something

I would love to get a horn from a 2003 Accord, because from what I heard they're just what I want. Would it be cheaper to find one of those, or one from a Cadillac (since I could get an older one)?
Does anyone know just how hard the wiring is, and could you possibly explain it?

its usually just one wire, since when you bolt it to the body it gets its ground automatically. so just splice one wire and you're on your way

I stole the horns off of a 91 Mustang GT. It was totalled and the shop I was working at was doing a complete swapover into a 4 clyinder car...
I kept the horns and now have a beast of a horn.

So I can just take the horn out of any car in the junkyard, and install it by splicing one wire? Why don't more people do this?
Does anyone know of any cars 1991 or earlier, that have a nice-sounding horn that's loud but not high-pitched at all? Obviously, I won't be able to find any really nice cars in the junkyard, probably not a cadillac either.

i changed mine to an alarm siren, it would start off like a siren so you could pull people over<lol> then the longer you held it it would cycle through the different sounds, it was hilarious.
