Default Has anyone else ever heard of this? A6 motor running off a LS ECU???

OK so my friend Justin brings some kid over to my house to check out my integra that he wants to buy. Well while the kid was looking at my car Justin and I start talking about someone elses car. Well the kid had a b16 in his crx for awhile and ended up trading his motor and trans for a street bike. Well to get to the point of this story, Justin told me he put a a6 back into the crx for the kid and ran it off a 90-93 LS ecu??? The kid then told justin that the car felt just as fast as his b16 did. After hearing this I went cross eyed and just about fell over. I proceeded to tell Justin that I didn't think this was possible and I asked if the ecu pluged in without any problems. Justin said it did and that as long as its a OBDO ecu that it would work. Well I just happen to have a LS ecu sitting around doing nothing. I'm curious if this will work and acutually give me some noticeable gains, without it hurting my motor.

yes and no

u can use the 90-91 integra LS ecu wich is still OBDO (PR4 ECU)
it will make the engine run a lil richer and will have a slightly higher redline

the 92-93 LS was already OBD1, and is also PR4, but will not work

Will I notice much of a difference? Is there a chance of it hurting my motor at all? How much higher of a redline? Will it acutally make power up in the higher RPMS or will it just drop off like with the normal ecu? One more LOL, will my motor be able to take being reved higher? I normally try to keep it under 6300rpms.

I dont think the ls redlines much higher than your stock motor(maybe a couple hundred rpm).
You will not hurt anything. Just go plug it in and tell us how it feels.
Chances are, you wont feel much of a difference.

yup it works and will run that motor...but we reprogrammed the ls ecu to run our client's car optimally

Stock cars usually run slightly rich.
I have read a few threads where people have IHE and put on adjustable FPR's and expected to have to raise the fuel pressure up a bit. They go in for a dyno tune and found that lowing the pressure gave more performance.
I would figure the same would apply to you. You will be trying to run the engine richer than needed. It may actually hurt performance.

If you are running a stock cam then the extra RPM isn't going to do you any good.
