What is a passenger side mirror?

Not at all. The difference is this: You know where the gauges are and you know what position the needles should be in (all at quick glance), whereas the "quarter" you speak of is constantly moving everytime u hit the brake or gas and you have no idea where it is (other than on the floor SOMEWHERE).

Keeping your eyes on road is more

the gauges (usuallly)</TD></TR></TABLE>
Hmm alright, then rock no gauges at all and hope everything is OK. LOL.
Closer is better, no argument there...however some of us own cars that are driven on the street as well as get parked on the street. Its a way to hide the gauges from thieves walking by.

I'm not saying gauges aren't important.
I remember my CRX had a triple pod a-pillar gauge cluster.
If someone thinks your car is worth stealing, gauges in plain
sight won't be the determining factor when it comes to
jacking your **** for parts or your jacking your ride completely.

Re: (knwldge54)
Maybe so, but having a boost/oil temp/water pres gauge, boost controller, turbo timer is a pretty damn good indication of what you have under your hood. If those things aren't visable, and you can keep your mouth shut about your setup and where you live...you're much less likely to be a victim of theft.
Like I've said before though...I like the ef's stock interior just the way it is...No visable changes
