Getting ready to do my clutch...(pics)....+ some ?'s....
Heres all the stuff(minus the ZC LSD tranny...still in Ohio)
Yes you read that right.
I was able to score a JDM LSD ZC tranny from a freind for only 400 bucks!
?'s....
-What all do I need to grease?...Also what grease do I use?...I need to oviously get some.
-Do need to tip the engine/tranny down for room to slide it off, or does it just slide off with-out tipping?
Can't wait to do this!!! I have been driving for the past 3 months on a burnt stock clutch(no launches, and/or full throtal runs), and it's been driving me CRAZY! I had a STOCK Ford Focus rev on me the other day, and I LOST!!! The clutch just couldn't take the abuse....Yeah it was pretty sad.
I am also fixing the wastgate actuator so I actually stay BELOW 15 psi
With my T-25 + 3inch exhaust I hit 10psi by 2800 RPM. That means that I have to control the throtle past 2800 so I stay below 10psi. That in turn mean's NO WOT past 2800....IT SUCKS
I will be SO ******* HAPPY to get this **** fixed!!...I start Tommarow at 6:00PM
Thank's for reading...

Grease?? Get some high temp grease. Put it in the middle hole of the clutch plate and on the shaft on the tranny. Move the release bearing out and get grease behind it aswell. It should come off farely easy. Be patient, you'll get it done.

Bryson:
For the ultimate in grip, cover your clutch disk in grease. (That was a joke guys...do not do that!! )
The mounts on your car are a little different, but on the trannies that I have dropped (2000 Civic Si, 89 Integra, 87 CRX Si), you basically just remove the passenger side motor mount/tranny mount from the chassis and you'll have enough room to drop that biatch right out. Having a lift to do this is soooo nice. If not, get the car up as high as you can and use a tranny jack. When I dropped the 89 Integra tranny at Pick N Pull, I had to slide it off and lower it down by myself without a jack. It would have been sooo much easier with another person or a tranny jack.

I am getting my freind to "hoist" the tranny from up top, as I sit underneith to position/move it around. I hope that method will work.
I will drop the tranny onto a "board with wheels" so I can easily move it around.
So you don't even need to remove the front mount/ or tip the engine down? that is great new's!!
I can get my car about 3-4 feet off the ground(tire/wheel is foot off)...so i should have plenty of room.
So I don't Grease EVERYTHING??? I thought the flywheel needed to be greased or else it would over heat?
Cheer's!

i'm going to be replacing my transmission soon too.....
don't you have to remove the front, rear, and passenger side mounts?? i thought that those 3 out of the 4 total mounts were on the transmission...
i'm not sure if somebody mentioned it already, but i think you should be sure to grease your throwout bearing. and if possible replace the pilot bearing in your flywheel.

There isn't a big difference, Seat of the pants feel is the same , except the ZC has no tourqe steer. If you run at the track I hear the ZC is a tad slower unless you put a Si final drive in it. If you don't run at the track you may not notice a difference. I cant tell. and I ran 2 Si boxes before I put the ZC box in mine.

First, you need to send the tranny to me so that I can properly test the LSD too make sure it will be fine on a reg ZC, before going to a turbo ZC.
The days of having a clutch slip that badly are luckily long gone. It brings back bad memories.
Have fun. 3-4 ft should be plenty.

Where can I buy those seals?...does manchestor honda carry them?
Are they hard to install?
Might as well as I have to wait for the tranny to get here.

ANY honda dealer should have the axle seals for your tranny. i got mine from a local honda dealer for an 89 Si tranny case (the Si case is the same as the ZC case).
Driver's side axle seal

1989 Civic Si
Passenger's side axle seal

AMEN, there is a noticeable lack of torque steer! No more fighting the car when you hit second!

I've done my clutch by dropping the tranny, sadly I had no tranny jack so I was benchpressing the **** while my buddy slid the tranny bolts in. It's a pretty simple job if you have the correct tools and whatnot, I didn't so it was a BiAtCh.

don't you need integra axles for the zc tranny? I thought you did? Just throwing things out there. Try to jack your car up at a good height so you can angle thing right to get the tranny to "slide out" like it will be that easy more like pull and pull and wiggle and yank. Also make sure you unbolt the flywheel guard so you have all the bolts out (missed that one time and I didn't know what was holding the tranny on). Good luck and make a 1/4 run after you get it fixed, because I remember you posting an 16 sec run last time.

Well I already have a ZC tranny (with out the LSD)so I don't need anything else....
Once the clutch get's broken in, I'm heading straight to the track....
I hope to at least hit 14's...hopefully 13's...well see.
